Since 1996,the world's genetically modified crops for commercial cultivation area expanded rapidly;there is a lot of discussion on this at home and abroad.Especially in 2009 China began implementing the "GMO technology" major projects and the approval of the security certificate rice,maize three varieties,the domestic discusses about GM crops commercialized turned to be emotional.This report composed of five sub-reports attempts to introduce the situation from an objective point of view:The first part is about the worldwide commercial cultivation of genetically modified crops.The second part is about the global consumption of genetically modified crops,which inferred that the global acceptance of GM crops continues to increase.The third part is on the major countries(regions)of GM crop safety regulatory system,based on the world's major transgenic planting and consuming countries are classified by analyzing management concepts(principles),regulations,regulatory agencies,pre-market evaluation,post-market surveillance and other elements of the regulatory system,summarize the characteristics of different types of state regulation and its impact on the commercial development of genetically modified crops produced.The forth part is about the situation of China commercialization of GM crops,problems and challenges and future policy options.Currently China has become the world's the largest consumer of GM crops,which makes the domestic staple foods crop commercialization in the critical period of policy choices.The report analyzes China by genetically modified crops,consumer,regulatory situation,pointed out that China's development challenges of commercialization of genetically modified staple crops may face and the fifth part is about the possible paths to choose from.
