Car navigation system is an important driver assistant system.It has provided necessary travel information for the mobile travel activities of users.With the development of computer,internet and navigation related technologies,the function of current car navigation system has been greatly improved.It not only provide space information including routes and locations for users in the strange environment,but also provide real-time traffic information.It can greatly improve the travelling efficiency,safety and experience.The using process of car navigation system is also the human-computer interaction process between users and the navigation system.Therefor,the interaction design of car navigation is the key scientific point in car's interaction design.This paper takes car navigation interaction design as the main research content.It conducts a systematic and structural research on related problems of car navigation interaction design through the form of task analysis.Its objective is to provide valuable theory and method instruction for the car navigation interaction design through the research,so as to improve the availability and embodiment of car navigation human-computer interaction.The main research questions include the following two aspects: car navigation system is an important driver assistant system in the car and it's function is to provide information service based on location and help the driver finish the route planning task.Route planning is a strategic task based on knowledge that involves spatial cognition and spatial planning tasks.User need task knowledge to finish the route planning,and go through a series of processes including cognition,decision and implementation.The route planning task during the car driving process is affected by various factors.Driving mobile task spans a certain space and time dimension.The uncertainty of travelling road network environment and the diversity of users' travel demands made the specificity and hierarchical features of car navigation system function and interactive demands.How to analyze the demands feature of users and interaction design feature through task analysis to improve the availability,effectiveness and embodiment of car navigation system is the first problem;during the human-computer interaction process of driver using the car navigation,the interaction behavior between the user and the navigation system belongs to second driving task in the car,which forms typical multitask feature in the car.The user interaction and driving behavior form a close and conflicting relationship.Based on task analysis to analyze the feature of car navightion interaction design methods and strategies is the second main problem.Based on the particularity of human-computer interaction,this paper has combined design science,cognitive psychology,geography,transportation,computer and other theories of related disciplines in the theory aspect,so it has the characteristics of multidisciplinary theory.On the research methods,according to tasks in the car navigation field and features of human-computer interaction task,this paper has adopted literature research,experimental analysis,user in-depth interview,questionnaire investigation,case analysis,citation research and other research methods in accordance with different stages and contents of the study.The main results of the study are the following four aspects:1)The domain task of car navigation user is divided into route planning,driving task and travelling activity,analysis was made on these three parts to make clear the domain task feature of car navigation user.According to the domain task feature,the acting mechanism of navigation system on user's domain task is studied to establish the information demand model of user's domain task.According to logical mapping relation of domain task,the task type and structure feature of car navigation human-computer interaction is listed to establish car navigation human-computer interaction task model.2)Route planning is a kind of action planning task.The acquisition and processing of task knowledge directly influence the complete effect of task.The study has analyzed task context and task knowledge of routine planning,identified the decision-making mechanism of the user's car navigation route planning task and described the mental characteristics of car navigation human-computer interaction task.Based on situation awareness theory,the situation awareness feature of car navigation interactive behavior is analyzed and three interaction design levels to the cognition is proposed,that is,perception,comprehension and projection design.According to the forming mechanism of situation awareness,the mental model are analyzed and three types of interaction design contents targeting on user psychology model are proposed,namely,structure,cause-effect,and procedural design.3)Driving task conflict is an important problem in car navigation human-computer interaction.This paper studies the car navigation interaction tasks of the function of each channel,technical support and design elements characteristics of multimodal interaction model is constructed,fully describe the car navigation in the behavioral features of the human-computer interaction tasks.Driving tasks and resources analysis,describes the interaction tasks and characteristics of driving task conflict of cognitive resources,in order to reduce the security problems of multitasking causing provides a theoretical basis.4)The research suggests that the converting process from the domain task to the interaction task is the process that users convert the domain task objective to interactive intentions.The obtained values and significance from human-computer interaction task will help the conversion of domain tasks.Therefore,the mobile task and route planning tasks still depend on constant conversion between users,navigation system and car tasks.This research divides the interaction task into the user task,the navigation system application task and interactive task and with the specific objects of interactive design as the clue,proposes the task-oriented interaction design methods and strategies.This paper has systematically analyzed the demands,function and safety problems during the car navigation human-computer interaction process from the view of task analysis.The research conclusions has important innovative significance and theoretical practice value for the human-computer interaction design of car navigation.
