"WALTER" Dummy Non-uniform Sweating Skin Development And Application Development Research

Abstract/Summary:
"Walter" is a typical walkable fabric sweating manikin equpment,it is used by more research teams and research institutions because of it can measure thermal insulation and evaporative resistance of clothing,which are the most important parameter in clothing comfort evaluation.But unlike the hunman body,different parts of thermal manikin "Walter" have the same sweating rate.In order to improve the testing accuracy of thermal manikin "Walter" and make it simulate the non-uniform sweating of hunman body,this paper mainly carries out the following respects of content:The heat and mass transfer mechanism of non-uniform sweating skin was studied by numerical simulation,and the results of numerical simulation were verified by the experimental method.The experimental results showed that the simulation results were in good agreement with the experimental results.The results also showed that the numerical simulation method could well describe the heat and mass transfer law in the non-uniform sweating skin of thermal manikin "Walter".Local heat flow and local sweating volum in six parts of four male volunteers were measured when wearing five down jacket ensembles.The study found that the insensible perspiration of body surface was between 0.01 mg/min cm2 and 0.049mg/min cm2.The critical value of sensible perspiration and insensible perspiration was closed to 0.06mg/min Cm2.Bady mapping of local insensible perpiration was drawn by combining local sweating and body surface area.A non-uniform sweating skin of thermal manikin "Walter" that conformed to the human body local insensible perspiration ratio was prepared.The local thermal insulation and local evaporative resistance of clothing were measured and calculated by using local heat flow meter and local sweating sensor when thermal manikin"Walter" using non-uniform sweating skin.The results of local thermal insulation and local evaporative resistance of clothing measured and calculated by human test,thermal manikin "Walter" using non-uniform sweating skin test and thermal manikin"Newton" test were compared.A new method named slope method was used to analyze the local thermal insulation and evaporative resistance of clothing measured and calculated by human test and thermal manikin "Walter" using non-uniform sweating skin test.The study showed those two testing results had high relativity.The results showed the non-uniform sweating skin can accurately test the thermal insulation and evaporative resistance of clothing and truly reflect the local heat and wet comfort of clothing.
