Since1990s, private higher education has entered a period of rapid development in China, which injects the infinite vigor and vitality into China’s higher education, and has trained a large number of talents for China’s economic and social development. At the same time, along with the developing trend of China’s higher education’s popularization and marketization, the private-owned colleges are faced with unprecedented running risk because of the serious competition among different kinds of colleges. The development of private-owned colleges have arrived at a turning point. The purpose of running colleges is also experiencing "baptism". Is the purpose of running colleges for making profits or imparting knowledge and educating people morally? How to impart knowledge and educate people morally? This is a development concept, as well as a management concept for private-owned colleges. As for the private ones, the best way to reduce the risk is to confirm the purpose of running a college and process the innovation of management system constantly.This paper which is closely related to the actual situation of China’s private-owned colleges involves some interdisciplinary theories and methods like sociology, education, management, and deals with the innovation of management system of private-owned colleges from seven aspects as follows. Chapter one, the introduction, mainly discusses the background, purpose and significance of this selected topic, as well as the relevant research review in current domestic and international situation. Chapter two, the historical process of private education, mainly discusses the emergence and development, the characteristics at different stages of development, the existing problems and reasons, and the management system’s selection mechanism of the private education in China. This chapter especially focuses on the diversity of running mode, the main characteristics of management system, as well as the establishment of featured educational mode and harmonious college culture. Chapter three deals with the theoretical basis of management system innovation research on private-owned colleges. It mainly focuses on the sociology basics, education basics and management basics of management system innovation research on private-owned colleges. Chapter four, the research on private universities management system of developed countries, mainly discusses the nature, mode, framework and other advantages of private colleges’management system in developed countries. Chapter five, the innovative design of private colleges’management system, mainly discusses the construction principle, the logical framework, the basic types, and the value orientation of the private colleges’management system. It especially focuses on the allocation of resources and reconstruction of management system, improvement of the supervision mechanism, the principle of public welfare in private colleges. Chapter six, practical ways to innovate the management system in private colleges, mainly discusses the establishment of private education system with Chinese characteristics, innovative educational system, assets and the financial management system, personnel management system, policy research on innovative management system in private colleges. It mainly focuses on the hidden problems of vague policy environment and profitable private universities, government’s legislation on "category management" of the profitable and non-profitable problems, financial assistance to high-level and large-scale private colleges’operating problems and market mechanism problems of innovative private colleges’operation. Chapter seven, the establishment of moral education mechanism, mainly discusses the cultural accumulation of moral education mechanism, the innovation of learning-type organization’s construction, the occupation ethics of moral education mechanism in private-owned colleges. It mainly focuses on the moral education mechanism, the hidden curriculum theories, the community organization, and innovation of learning-type organization’s construction in private-owned colleges.
