Chinese Minority Religious Studies And Harmonious Society

China’s minority religion with the feature of both ethnic and religion is defined under the conception of nation. The vast majority of the fifty five minorities in China have religious beliefs. The three major religions have followers in China as well. Religion as a part of minorities’ culture is very important for national cohesion and development. Harmonious society is a social development strategic objective proposed by the Communist Party of China in2004. Cultural harmony is an integral part in the process of building harmonious society, religion is part of the culture, the unity and identity about religious culture is often the unification basis of ideology and culture about politics and economy in a multi ethnic community, so the religious beliefs of Chinese minority is a factor that cannot be ignored in the process of building a Socialist Harmonious Society. To study on the relationship between China’s minority religion and building socialist harmony society not only meets the requirement of theory needs about ethnic religion study in new era but also accord with realistic national condition of correctly dealing with relationship among religions, religion and socialism society.This thesis entitled "Research of China’s Minority Religions and Harmonious Society" attempts to study the following issues:1, by theoretical to clarify the relationship between beneficial factors in Chinese minority religions and building a harmonious society;2, on the practical level to discuss how minority religions make their own distinctive contributions to building a harmonious society in the process of social interaction;3, to propose the way choice of minorities religion in the process of socialist.The thesis includes introduction and main body that is inclusive of five chapters.The introduction mainly explains topic selection, research significance, research current situation, research methodology, innovation points, and etc.Chapter1summarizes distribution and characteristics of Chinese minority religions. Three characteristics of minority religions summarized as follows:1, characteristic of ethnic features about religious beliefs are vivid;2, various forms of religious beliefs coexist;3, the unity of religious beliefs and ethnic psychology, culture, and customs.Chapter2discusses theories of harmonious society and religious harmony, and summarizes historic context and connotation of these theories above. The governing philosophy of social harmony is proposed on the basis of social stability. The theory of religious harmony is a practice of scientific development concept. Building the link between China’s minority religious harmony and social harmony to coordinate relationship among them is good for religious healthy development and society’s long-term stability.The third chapter discusses harmony ideology in the cultural of minorities’ religious. It is described from three aspects:first, the harmony ideology of that nation means brothers with same mother; second, the environmental protect ideology of that human and nature united together; third, ideology of that diverse beliefs get along each other peacefully. Minorities’religion has a tradition of pursuing for peace and harmony. Therefore, there are so much discipline and inspiration about harmony in their original faith or religious rules. So it should be a goal that making avocation and pursuing of harmony to become popular values and ideals by exploring harmony resource in Chinese minorities’religious, combined with the new requirements of the times and beliefs practical innovation.The fourth chapter with title of minorities’religious and unified multi-ethnic country discusses that how minorities’religion has very important role in the process of national unity and ethnic development from historical aspect and how to deal with the relationship between ethnic religion and nation correctly. That means it should be done that both insisting on religious beliefs freedom and keeping legal management and controlling for religious. If there is no stable, there is no harmony, so it needs both powerful and reasonable society control method to make the dream of building socialist harmonious society becoming reality.The fifth chapter discusses ethnic religious and socialist hannonious society from realistic aspect. The essence of research on Chinese minority religious beliefs is to study how to adapt them to the development of socialist society, so it is necessary to do some study about ethnic religious and socialist hannonious society. This chapter firstly describes inner means about harmonious society built in minority area and then analyses the relationship between Chinese minorities’ religion and ethnic culture and important role in the process of building harmonious society in Chinese religious culture ecological balance by referring frontier theory in religion academe which is the view of religious and cultural ecological balance. Then this chapter tries to propose the way choice of harmonious society construction in minority area, this ways include that idea of constructing boundary area and making people rich up, introduction of religious beliefs harmonious thought and adapting religion to socialist society.The idea of harmonious culture while maintaining individual differences deeply affects china’s minority religions. The ideology of "regarding harmony as good" makes China’s minority religion easily adapt society and help politics in new era’s condition and become positive energy to promote social development. Allowing different ethnic groups to maintain their own religious beliefs is a prerequisite for the maintenance of the integrated structure of the Chinese nation. Basically, there are differences among religions, but they have same target that seeking harmony. Chinese history has fully embodied the hannonious relationship among religions, has also provide much resource that worth to study between religion and harmonious society.
