At present, China has become the largest car producer in the world. Automotive industrydevelops rapidly and it has become an important part of the national economy. However,many problems emerge in the development process of the automotive industry in China. Suchas the spatial organization are not reasonable enough is particularly obvious and especiallyand it has become obstacles to the healthy development of automotive industry. Theoreticalstudy about the spatial organization of automotive industry is not enough in China, and it isdifficult to conduct scientific guidance for the organization of spatial pattern of theautomotive industry. In response to this situation, this paper take the organization ofChangchun automotive industry for example, do in-depth study of the pattern, mechanism andregulation of the spatial organization of automotive industry by learning from the advancedexperience of developed areas at home and abroad and combining with geography, economies,sociology and related disciplines and theory. Expect to provide some useful reference viewsfor the spatial organization of automotive industry in our country. This article is divided intosix parts:chapter1. Concept, relative research advance and practical experience of abroad. itmainly combed and analyzed for some related concepts of spatial organization of automotiveindustry, and then defined the concept of automotive industry space. It also introduced andsummarized the status of theoretical study at home and abroad and investigated into thespatial organization of automotive industry of Detroit in U.S., Germany and Toyota in Japanat the same time.Chapter2. Basic Theory of Research in Spatial Organization of Automotive Industry.According to the problems in the spatial organization of automotive industry, it provided asolid theoretical foundation for the study of spatial organization of automotive industry inChina by analyzing Industrial Location Theory, Industrial Cluster Theory, Theory ofEconomic Geographical Synthesis and Enterprise Spatial Evolution Theory deeply.Chapter3. Changchun Automotive Industry and its Spatial Development Process. It hasbeen divided into three stages, they are stages of period before reform, after reform andopening up and economic globalization. Combed the spatial characteristics of Changchunautomotive industry.Chapter4. The Present Situation of Automotive Industry Space in Changchun.Researched the spatial layout of Changchun automotive industry. Then, the main problems ofChangchun automotive industry space were summarized, which include dispersed anddisordered layout of automotive industry space, lag of development of supporting industry, weak regional correlation and so on.Chapter5. Mechanism of the Organization of Changchun Automotive Industry Space. Ithas analized that spatial organization of Changchun automotive industry comprehensively bydoing detailed study from factors of geography, agglomeration and diffusion, the role ofgovernment, urbanization, technology and market.Chapter6. Regulation of the Spatial Development of Automotive Industry in Changchun.Firstly, the background of regulation of automotive industry in Changchun was analized andthe idea and goals of the regulation were cleared. Secondly, pointed out the emphasis of theregulation of Changchun’s automotive industry space. Finally, specific measures of buildingstrong supportive system and guidance for regulation of automotive industry space system areprovided.
