Research On The Growth Mechanism Of High-tech Industry-Based On Industrial Organization

Since 1980s, with the drive of technological innovation and the de-regulation to industry, high-tech industry growth has some new characteristics and trends, such as industrial cluster, industrial convergence and modularity. Meanwhile, industrial organization shows the trend of vertical disintegration and networking. Under these new development trends of industry, How to promote a healthy and rapid growth of high-tech industry becomes an important issue demanding discussion. Based on the industrial organization theory,the industrial growth theory and Self-organized methods,this dissertation conducts an in-depth and systematic study on the high-tech industry growth from the perspective of industrial organization,and it also designs some industrial organization modes of high-tech industry growth which are suitable to industrial cluster, convergence and modularity. And the growth mechanism driven by industrial organization structures has also been revealed. Undoubtedly this study has important significances theoretically and practically both for enriching and developing industrial development theory, working out for the policies for the development of high-tech industry, and speeding up the healthy and rapid growth of high-tech industry.In this dissertation, there are total of seven chapters.Chapter one is an introduction. Chapter two and Chaper three put forward the conceptual framework and establish the theoretical basis of the study. Firstly, it gives the definition of high-tech industry growth and analyzes the industry life cycle, growth process, and evolution laws.Then the relations between industrial organization structure and high-tech industry growth are uncovered. Chapter four to six, which are the contributive parts in this dissertation, design industrial organization modes of high-tech industry growth which are suitable to industrial cluster, convergence and modularity, and reveal the growth mechanisms of high-tech industry which are driven by industrial orgnization optimization. The last chapter includes the conlusion and prospect of this research.As a result, it shows that, the improvement of industrial organization performances is an important sign of high-tech industry growth, which includes the expansion of industrial scale (growth scale),the improvement of industrial innovation (growth quality), and the increase in industrial profitability (growth benenift), etc. Meanwhile, the industrial organization structure is a crucial factor of high-tech industry growth. The growth of high-tech industry has presented some remarkable trends, such as industrial cluster, convergence and modularity. Accordingly the industrial organization structures forms by the stable relationship among enterprises instead of the relations between enterprises' competition and monopoly. The industrial organization structure which is suitable to industrial cluster is Spatial Network Organization and Horizontal Linkage Organization to indusrial convergence, Modular Organization to modularity. Spatial Network Organization has three structural forms, the Horizontal Labour Division, the Vertical Labour Division and the Mixed Labour Division. Spatial Network Organization causes the of expansion economic scale by the space externalities, increases the economic benefits by cluster scale, and enhances the innovation capability by network effect, so as to cause a cluster-growth of high-tech industry.When it comes to the Horizontal Linkage Organization, it also has three structure forms, which are the Technology Horizontal Linkage, the Product Horizontal Linkage, and the Service Horizontal Linkage. Horizontal Linkage Organization promotes the upgrading of the industrial structure through the cooperation R&D between enterprises, enhances industrial vitality through effective competition, improves the efficiency of resource allocation through synergistic economy, and promotes organization performance through synthetic effects, so as to bring along a convergence-growth of high-tech industry. The Modular Organization also has three structure forms,which are non-core structure,one-core structure,and multi-core structure. Under the mode of modular production, the Modular Organization achieves economic benefits by economies of substitution, improves the innovation capacities by diversified competition, and improves industrial competitive advantage by synergistic effects, so as to trigger a modular growth of high-tech industry.
