Research On Education Of Traditional Virtues For College Students During Modernization

The essence of Chinese culture is its traditional virtue which also is the spirit for Chinese.College students is not only an important group for establishing comprehensive well-off society, realizing China Dream, but also the key object for ideological and political education. And the Chinese traditional virtue is an important content of ideological and political education for college students.Modernization is not only a coordinated development of the economy and technology,humanities and ethics,but also inheriting the basis of tradition,is not just simple industrialization and westernization. And since the New Culture Movement in past 100 years, Chinese traditional virtue has experienced vicissitudes of life. From twentieth Century twenty’s "Science & Metaphysics Debate" to eighty’s "Culture Heat", the relationship between Chinese traditional culture and modernization have been several generations of Chinese painstaking search problem. In China, the core contents of traditional Chinese virtues of inherited in modern revolution and the socialist revolution and construction period. Currently,the Chinese traditional virtue has new value in promoting the cultivation and practicing social core values, which strict the atmosphere of family, society and community, contract the ecological and network civilization, strengthen the whole world for "Chinese" consciousness. Contemporary college students have certain problems of traditional virtue base on the analysis of sampling survey for 9 full-time public universities in Fuzhou which is the capital of Fujian province. Problem of cognitive aspects:cognitive obviously one-sided, passive cognitive, identity with the national goal need to be improved; problem of practice aspects:filial duty, respecting old people, cooperation and autonomy problem and etc. Chinese traditional virtue education has its unique function of education in universities, including the education function of ideal and beliefs, how to behave oneself education function, learning and truth-seeking education function, cultivating mind education function and etc. Both the birthplace of world higher education in Britain and the Confucian virtue education paradigm in Singapore, provide the reference of traditional virtue education for the college students in our country.During modernization, traditional virtue education in college students should measured by system contrunction. Strengthening organization and leadership, clarify the traditional virtue education as the guide ideology for college students which strengthen the leadership of the traditional virtue. Strengthening system construction,the traditional virtue should be integrated into national laws and regulations, and the traditional virtue education mechanism should be improved in universities.Optimizing the educational path, mainly includes three aspects:strengthen the teaching material and course construction, build Ancient Chinese Literature Search teachers team, and integrate the Chinese excellent traditional culture education of "Marx Theory Course and Ideological and Political Education" teaching system in university; Take the two themes like traditional festivals and traditional etiquette as the breakthrough point and activating the campus culture,enhancing the traditional virtues recognition for college students,through the organization of experience the traditional culture museum,the discretion of productive labor,and orderly conduct of military training,which greatly improve students’ practice ability of traditional virtue.
