Most researches based on a single psychological theory in a single situation to promote collegiate students’physical activity, while few researches explored the effect of physical education (PE) on leisure-time physical activity (LTPA). This has caused the limitations of previous theoretical models on the prediction of physical activity behavior. In present study, tripartite-efficacy-physical-activity (TEPA) model was conducted with the consideration of the role of teachers and PE, and explored the effect and psychological mechanism of tripartite efficacy to physical activity. This study based on self-efficacy theory and theory of plan behavior, and constructed a cross-situational model of tripartite efficacy predicting physical activity behavior. This study includes three empirical studies:one cross sectional study and two longitudinal studies. In study 1:The model of tripartite efficacy perdicting physical activity behavior was constructed and tested.784 college students participated in the study. As to provide theoretical basis for subsequent experimental intervention model, this study completed three tasks:(a) cross-cultural examination to introduce scale, (b) examination to the internal structure of tripartite efficacy model, and (c) examination the 5 elements model. In study 2:On the basis of the theoretical model to study 1,209 collegiate students participated in the comprehensive intervention experiment for 8 weeks. The results showed that the index of intension and endurance of college students significantly improved after 8 weeks of intervention. In study 3:On the basis of the theoretical model to study 1,143 collegiate students partipated in intervention experiment about PE and leisure-time for 2 weeks. The results showed that the index of PBC was improved; the physical activity behavior showed significantly positive changes. It was conclued that:(1) The 5 elements model can be used as a theoretical basis for interpreting and predicting physical activity of college students.(2) Tripartite efficacy in PE can effectively improve their leisure-time self-efficacy of related behavior.(3) The intervention of triple efficacy in PE is better to the promotion effect of PA than leisure-time efficacy intervention.(4) Long-term intervention to efficacy of college students in both PE and leisure time can effectively promote their health quality.
