The history of education of ethnic minority regions is not only an important research field in the educational science, but also is an important part of ethnic historical studies. The development of the history of education of an ethnic minority region is closely related to the politics, economy,culture and social environment of that region, at same time can reflect the historical trace of the social transformation of the region. The Guihua City Tumed Banner of Qing Dynasty located adjacently to the Great Wall,is the area inhabited by the Mongolians and the Hans where the Han People first flew into, and is the the earliest area in Inner Mongolian Region that set up official school of Confucianism,so the education in this area had distinguishing characteristics of its own.Unfortunately, the academic community at present has not yet started systematical studies on the education of Turned Banner. This article is attempted to reproduce the over all picture of education development of Tumed Banner in the period from Qing Dynasty To Republic of China based on the Manchu,Mongolian, Chinese and Japanese archives of Qing Dynasty, Republic Of China and during the Period of Japanese Aggression kept in Tumedzuo Banner as the main historical materials, and at same time bring out the profound Influence of rapid changes of politics, economy, culture and social environment at this period to the development of education. This article consists of five parts:Chapter 1 The history and educational management institution of Turned Banner 。 In addition to the introduction of formation of the two wings of Tumed and the establishment of its internal affiliated banners, administrative district division and social conditions, the main explanations are focused on the central government’s basic education system and the Tumed Banner’s educational management institution in the period from Qing Dynasty to Republic of China.Chapter 2 The establishment of official school education in Turned Banner. Investigation and interpretation are made to the establishment process of the official schools in Tumed, temple-school-in-one pattern of the official schools and changes in educational contents in Turned schools, further more analysis is made on the influence the official school education generated on Tumed Banner.Chapter 3 Emerge and development of modern education in Tumed Banner. Further discussion is made on the beginning of Tumed Banner’s modern education in the period of New Deal in the Late Qing Dynasty, and further development of modern education in the period of Beiyang Government, the National Government. This chapter explains the establishment and development of the Banner run schools at all levels, Mongolian schools, social education and vocational education, the establishment of the Inspection system and its role, at same time corrections are made for the mistakes in the history of schools recorded in the past historical data.Chapter4 Education in the period of MengJiang Regime and Educational "Demobilization" in the period of Liberation War. This chapter mainly investigates the concrete implementation of the educational policies in Tumed Banner in the period of the MengJiang Regime, including resume and adding of primary schools, strengthening Japanese and Mongolian education, Lama schools. Then inspection and explanation are made on the educational "Demobilization" in Tumed Banner in the period of Liberation War.Chapter 5 Analysis on achievements, characteristics and influencing factors of education development in Turned Banner in the period from Qing Dynasty To Republic of China. On the basis of over all carding, investigating and explaination of the education development status in Tumed Banner in the period from Qing Dynasty To Republic of China in previous 4 chapters, this chapter analyses and sum up achievements Tumed Banner education has gained and its distinguishing characteristics, and study has been made on the various factors that influence the education development in Tumed Banner.
