In the rapid process of urbanization and industrialization in China currently, thedevelopment of agriculture is in a critical period of transition from traditionalagriculture to modern agriculture. In the context of agricultural transformation, theconstruction model which rely on the extensive resource consumption and productionsupporting settlement no longer meet the needs of production and life today. As themode of production, lifestyle, living concept and the requirements for living spacehave been making the great shift, the traditional settlement space has no longersatisfied with modern agricultural production and living needs. So the settlementsspace reconstruction context of urbanization is the inevitable trend in rural settlementsdevelopment.Northwest dry agriculture area is the birthplace of traditional agriculture and therepresentative of Northwest Loess Plateau dry areas in China, which is facing varyingdegrees of frequent natural disasters, ecological system disorders, severe social andeconomic backwardness, also many other issues. It is very important to coordinate theconstruction and the environment, the inherent contradiction between resources,establishing and developing compliance characteristics of the region as a whole in thecontext of agricultural transformation, the production patterns of life of people livingthe environment in such a special area of the rural human settlements construction,especially in the traditional rural settlements updates exploration and developmentmode.The problems in Northwest dry areas living environment lies in the particularly evidentin the transition of modern agriculture, such as the traditional rural settlement layout facing the current mode of production, settlement construction excessive consumptionof resources, lack of scientific technical system support, lack of geographical featuresand it have become increasingly prominent. So it’s very urgent and necessary toconduct the research.The article is based on the background of Overall ecosystem harmony, harmoniousrelationship between people and resources and is observed on loess plateau as a whole.The typical traditional rural settlement in Northwest dry areas is selected as theresearch object, the agricultural transformation perspective on the development in theface of many problems is made as a research starting point combined with professionalown characteristics. In order to study the living environment of rural economics,ecology science theories and research methods, we analyzed a large number ofinstances to restore the ecosystem among macro background, to focus on agriculturaldevelopment and the relationship between settlement construction, search, to revealdifferent agricultural development stages of the evolution of the dynamic mechanismof settlement pattern in Northwest dry areas. We analyzed and discussed deeply andsystematically in the area of traditional vernacular architecture building constructioninherent in native wisdom, optimized the process of settlement construction in energyutilization and technical supporting system. So, it has important practical significanceto alleviate the deteriorating northwest dry areas ecological environment, thecontradiction between people and resources for exploring the appropriate mode ofsettlement construction, especially for the comprehensive utilization of clean energyand other issues. On this basis, we explored and studied to build the basic theoreticalframework of agriculture transition period in Northwest dry areas. It can complementthe lack of theoretical studies in traditional rural settlement from the agriculturalperspective and has more prominent scientific significance to explore the sustainabledevelopment theory in Living Environment in agriculture transition.The articlesummarized the rural settlements development in the region of updated traditionalmodel to adapt to ecosystem features which combined with contemporary constructionof new rural development. It can provide the ideas and methods for us in the futureresearch and practice.The creative points of the article are as follows: 1)Unique research view: From the perspective of agricultural transformation,analyzed and discussed the Overall geographical unit in dry areas northwest onthe theoretical guidance of living environment, rural economics, ecology,geographic information to research Traditional rural settlement whose the mostprominent problem as “Three Rural Issues" in northwest dry areas.2) Constructed the theory mode and Technology System: To conduct aharmonious whole tribes for the study of ecosystem objectives in the context ofmodern agricultural transformation, We started From the traditional ruralsettlement patterns of agricultural production and the relationship betweensettlement construction to summarize the morphological characteristics oftraditional rural settlement at different stages of agricultural development.Weanalyzed the construction patterns of traditional rural settlement theoretically inthe Northwest dry areas and try to establish a theoretical framework constructionmode. At the same time, try to optimize the construction technology system forconducting the unity of the theoretical guidance and technical supporting.3)Proposed three settlements construction mode adapting for the agriculturaldevelopment in Northwest dry areas, which based on the agriculturaltransformation perspective combined with Northwest dry areas development oftraditional rural settlement in different directions.
