Body, Space And Relationships:Everyday Life Political Studies About Urban Subaltern Group

For decades since the reform and opening up, China has made remarkable achievements with a lot of social problems. The expansion of the subaltern class (especially in urban area) is undoubtedly one which cannot be ignored. The huge number of subaltern population, complex mechanism of generation and the undecided trend of its development in period of social transition have been compelling the entire academia and society with great influence to resolve the potential problems. The research for the subaltern class in social science cannot be confined to its previous and superficial description of the current situation. How to comprehend the inherent meaning of subaltern class as an emerging political group stepping on the political stage are more beneficial for understanding the truth of the subaltern class.This thesis considers the subaltern group in metropolitan among the Chinese subaltern class provides an ideal sample for us to explore itself and its political status. And then, this group has the following three characteristics:firstly, live in groups and have a higher sense of organization which is conducive to the occurrence of political behaviors; secondly, live in urban area as loser of interests in process of urbanization; thirdly, this group has formed a relatively integrated underlying political form. For the entire political landscape of contemporary China, it is so necessary to select an appropriate perspective to figure out which role the subaltern group plays in the research.Fortunately, every life political perspective open up a new path for us to explore the subaltern political groups. This path is different from the western writing styles of "underlying political", such as "the Indian Subaltern Studies School" and "Scott dynasties", and differs from the "struggle "underlying politics which is regarded as the basic orientation by domestic scholars. Instead, every life political perspective integrates underlying politics into the every life of subaltern class and takes it as a reflection of everyday life of the subaltern class. Based on the above understanding, this paper attempts to solve a series of problems:how the subaltern group living in everyday life? And in this one, the most important is to study the three basic elements of every life structure:body, space and relationship? Then, how the three elements affect each other in the unique subaltern every life political area? Finally, whether the subaltern group in metropolis is constructing a relatively independent political form?The full text is divided into six chapters. Chapter Ⅰ mainly introduces the significance of the topic and discusses the social-level structure system and major research method this paper use; Chapter Ⅱ attempts to sort out the study for everyday life in order to make the subaltern politics and everyday life study integrate into a unified theme and draw conclusion from it; Chapter Ⅲ to Chapter Ⅴ mainly discuss each of the three main dimensions of every life:body, space and relationship and further improve the every life politics research of subaltern group through the dialogue between theory and practice; Chapter Ⅵ concludes all the research and rethinks inadequacies of the this study.Through the above research, this thesis suggests, Urban subaltern group everyday life politics can be expressed as a struggling process metropolis bottom groups around a daily life of the three elements of body, space and the relationship, in the process, three factors not only constitutes the basis of its underlying identity, also played a certain role in promoting the political action on the bottom layer. Meanwhile, despite the problems of current subaltern group are more prominent, but we can figure out three basic characteristics groups political contains by examining the politics of their everyday life:"limited reproduction of subaltern group","rational political behavior of the subaltern group of everyday life" and’"event Center’ political logic of subaltern groups’ everyday life,". It determines that the issues faced by the urban subaltern class are not long existed and will not bring very serious consequences.
