A Study Of Poet Xie Ao

Xie Ao (1249-1295), his courtesy name is Gaoyu, or Gaofu, self-titled Xifa Zi, his native place was Fujian Changxi in Song dynasty, later he moved into Fujian Pucheng. He was a famous Poet in end of Song dynasty and the early of Yuan dynasty; his works had a place in Chinese ancient Literature. This article will focus on his life, thinking, poem and prose to study in-depth. Base on XIE GAO YU NIAN PU was written by Xu Qin of Qing Dynasty, integrate the result of the study for Xie Ao’s life of a major event by scholars in modern and contemporary. The author compiled XIEAO NIAN PU and attached to the appendix.This article consists of six parts. The Introduction will make a highly summary of the article; readers will understand key points and framework of the article. The first chapter will study Xie Ao from all of his life, to research on his family background, his friends and his poem association. And also lists out his life events to let readers in-depth understand of Xie Ao.The second chapter will study Xie Ao’s thinking. Xie Ao was born during the end of Song Dynast and the begin of Yuan Dynasty, he consistently demonstrated his faithful to the Emperor and patriotism, to adhere to the national integrity. In his youth, Xie Ao’s thinking was full of ideal of Confucian pragmatism and self-cultivating; family-regulating; state-ordering; then the land great governed. In middle-aged, his thinking reflected adherents of consciousness that loyal to the homeland and didn’t serve the new emperor. The essence of his thinking gave an expression of spirit of Chinese ancient scholars:A strong sense of historical mission-excellent learning to be an official; A strong sense of cultural heritage-cultural undertake; A strong spirit of integrity-to be content with a simple life and enjoy living to the principles.The third chapter will study Xie Ao’s poem. His poem not only gets school achievement in the end of Song dynasty, but also has an important position in the Chinese ancient history of literary. First of all in this chapter, the author analyzes artistic sources of Xie Ao’s poem in a simple way, after that to research and dig a variety of topics of Xie Ao’s poem from multi-angle and multi-dimensional, summarize writing style and generalize artistic beauty of Xie Ao’s poem; then sublimate and lead to his noble character. Meanwhile, to compare of artistic quality between Xie Ao’s works with other poets’ in the same period, thus achieve a target to summarize artistic achievement of Xie Ao’s poem creation.The fourth chapter will study creation of Xie Ao’s prose. Due to most of his prose have been lost, there are only 14 articles were remained. The author will analyze artistic value of his grieved article "Deng Xi Tai Tong Ku Ji" and his travel notes, and summarize the Song adherents assays which survive in the world, which will make readers to get wide field of vision in reading, to find out both pursuit of art and ideological content of Xie Ao’s prose. The conclusion will make a summary to the patriotism poet-Xie Ao, his behave, his thinking and his works.This article study Xie Ao’s poem and prose base on "Xi Fa Ji" in the Version of "Si Ku Quan Shu" and also refer to the Versions of "Quan Song Shi" and "Quan Song Wen". To search and consult the commentary which about Xie Ao and his works in the past dynasties, and also refer to research result of contemporary.
