In the other hand, Nie Hualing promoted new writers, participated in literary activities, and created literary works. She provided a platform for writers and enriched the connotation of liberalism. The fourth chapter introduces the communication of literary magazines between Taiwan and Hong Kong. Finally, after it has been discontinued, she launched “International Writers Program” in the U.S.A., she developed it into a great cause for global literature enthusiasts. In the conclusion of this article, it points out the meaning of “Free China”: it dares to contend with the centralized system and to strive for freedom of thought and expression; and “Free China” encourages us to consider liberalism’s relationship with China’s reality, crossroad and approach of liberalism intellectual.
