Illustrations and texts play an equally important role in ancient books and records. Most parts in the Ming Dynasty version of Romance of the three kingdoms are illustrations, so illustrations and texts make up these versions. However, some researchers have been studying the version from the perspective of texts but not notice the illustrations while some from the perspective of illustrations but not pay attention to the texts. Basing on the former researches, the author regard the illustration edition of the Ming Dynasty version of Romance of the three kingdoms as the research object to systematically analyze the illustration features of different versions, to analyze the relationship of the illustrations and texts according to the theory of intertextuality, and discuss the important and close relationship between illustrations and texts. The author divide the version into three parts which include the version of "illustrations up texts down",the version of "illustrations full page"and moonlight version. From the view of illustration style, we can see that the version of "illustrations up texts down"in Jianyang bookshop is simple and the version of "illustrations full page "and the moonlight version are delicate. On the other hand, the version style of "illustrations full page " double hinges in Jinling is vigorous while the version style of "illustrations full page" single hinges in Suzhou is pure and fresh. From the view of the relationship of illustrations and texts, it is common that illustrations often follow the texts, but they also may be separated from each other sometimes.
