As an important turning point of the Taiwanese literature development, the modernist fiction broke the fetter of 1950's mainstream literature such as "official literary", and opened a new stage of Taiwanese literature development. In the sixties, KMT's polities was in a stage of siege, also Taiwanese economy took off, western's literary trend had been introduced, old values had been broken down. Those complicated historical circumstances endowed the modernist with special emotional experience and erlebins. The modernist fiction in Taiwan was nothing else than the specific expression of the intellectual's spirit world. Moreover, the arrival of modernistic pushed these modernistic lead them into unknown circumstances, outside and inside recounted led them into an anxiety, which was resulted from self-identity. Traditional existence form of body suffered strong query, New form of physical existence was starting to emerge. Living condition and erlebnis from those who lived in reality became a key point for modernist writing.In recent years, "body" has become a frequent keyword in literature discourse gradually. Body theory's grow up will also bring the literal studies into a new field. The theory --- "Body Narrative of Modernist Fiction in Taiwan" which was chosen took three preventative authors called Bai Xian Yong, Ou Yang Zi, Wang Wen Xing as the example. This theory is trying to discuss the modernist authors in Taiwan how to show people's form of physical existence based on closing reading, even expresses the value inclination and spiritual world in the intellectuals. This essay starts from historical context to set up reasonable interpretation for the modernist fiction, and the analyses of "body narrative" include three levels----physical desire, identity and psychological trauma, what's more, this essay discusses men, women and adolescence's form of physical existence through figure's performance. The "body" in the modernist fiction couldn't just be the human body in physical level, it possesses any more aboard meaning, which is a kind of social cultural concept about body. |
