| Chinese writers have token a part in the global publishing project of "a bold re-telling of legendary tales". There are many arguments about the project and the Chinese novels of the project. It’s puzzled writers that, how to value the ancient legend in a contemporary view, and how to inherit the eternal spirits of classic narrative text by using contemporary discourses. In other words, they should think over of how to re-tell the classic narrative text as well as develop it. During the literature creative experience, retelling a narrative text has been a way of writing, and has been criticized from many viewpoints. The criticisms are focused on the way to rewrite the narrative text and the purpose of it.In order to define the research object, we should first tease out the history of the development context of re-telling narrative text. During this process, it can be found that form the classic narratology to the after classic narratology, the key of text rewritten shift from story structure to narrative discourse. Different languages, genres and media forms means different cultural field, different narrative logic and symbols, and the different performance capabilities of media.
