A Constrction Research On Culturalsoft Power From The Perspective Of Historical Materialism

Vigorous promotion of Chinese soft power is an active response to the profound change of the contemporary world and to the demand of the spiritual and cultural life of the Chinese people. In the present era, peace and development are the themes. The international competition is largely dependent on the competition of comprehensive national strength, of which the economic strength is the basic element. However, the high value-added service economy mainly featured by the culture is booming in the whole world, and the culture is playing an increasingly prominent role in economic activities. Considering this, it is the general trend of development and the common aspiration of the people to get a clear understanding of the deep change in china and in the world and to enhance cultural soft power.At present, in terms of soft power research in china, there exist two drawbacks. One is that the theory can not keep pace with times。For instance, the research at home mainly focuses on Joseph S. Nye’s soft power in the 1990s. Few people conduct theoretical research on the current situation in the world, and the works concerning the systematic illustration of cultural soft power are few. On the other hand, few people solve the realistic problems based on the national conditions of china. The Chinese scholars pay more attention to international cultural communication and show less concern for the cultural soft power construction at home, which results in a variety of contradictions difficult to handle in a correct way in the process of cultural construction. In view of this, the paper explores cultural soft power construction in accordance with the requirements of the advanced cultural construction, aimed at promoting the cultural soft power in an all-round way.This paper investigates cultural soft power from the perspective of historical materialism, combines the Marxism cultural outlook with the current cultural construction, discusses the problems with regard to the cultural soft power of china from the essence of culture, demonstrates the directive significance of Marxism cultural outlook on soft power, and explores the future development path of Chinese culture.This paper consists of five chapters. Chapter One mainly examines the definition of culture in Marxist historicism. This chapter is a systematic explanation of culture, including culture in Marxism, forms and types, major properties, and rules of cultural generation and development.Chapter Two mainly discusses cultural soft power and different forms. In addition to the definition and forms of cultural soft power, this chapter also discusses the relationship between cultural soft power and international competence, which sheds light on the significance of soft power construction in China.Chapter three largely illustrates four elements of cultural soft power in china, with a special emphasis on cultural soft power structure with Chinese characteristics. Element one: origin of cultural soft power, esp., Chinese traditional culture; element two:essence of cultural soft power, with Chinese core values in particular; element three: main cultural resources, including the "red" culture; element four: assimilation of advanced western cultures, from which Chinese culture construction can draw lessons.Chapter four largely explores the status quo of Chinese cultural soft power construction and effective approaches for improvement, including those for integration, innovation, criticism and institutional reform.Chapter five largely identify the relationships of super socialist cultural powers, with an analysis of five major relationships, i.e., relationship between innovation stimulation and scientific guidance, cultural popularity and progress, cultural industries and construction, cultural inclusiveness and risks, soft power improvement and anti-chauvinism. All the above comparison helps to explore future direction of soft power construction.The original points of the paper lie in the following aspects:exploration of dialectical relationship between Marxist cultural theory and cultural soft power; elaboration of forms and elements of cultural soft power; soft power construction from the perspective of historical materialism; and finally effective approaches after analyses of super socialist cultural powers.
