The pure water ink landscape has been occupyed a considerable height of the thought in the history of landscape painting, while no advantage of the quantity and quality in the practice of painting as a whole.The color is always one of the focus of the Chinese color landscape painting, when pen and ink existed lightly or heavyly among the blue and green landscape painting of Tang and Song Dynasty, the light purple landscapes rised from Yuan Dynasty, the lineless landscape and the golden landscape occasionally.In the process, the cyanine and ochre had never left, from the stone color composite to water color composite, thick painting to thin painting.The selection in cyanine and ocher has a close relationship with Chinese natural environment and poetic culture intrinsically, which is reflected in visual arts as the Chinese traditional aesthetic, compared to the Western painting emphasis on rational thinking.Cyanine and ocher express the most abundant spiritual connotations with the most representative of the cold and warm colors.The color words about cyanine and ochre contains the nuances in ancient Chinese, in the contemporary, most words have been far away from people’s lives.Cyanine made from herbaceous plants is a genus color, ochre from hematite a mineral color, the colors have not fixed value, and they have color range.Making cyanine and ochre was long history, predecessors left behind a lot of valuable methods and experience to us.The color effect about cyanine and ochre has a close relationship with paper, glue alum and pigment particles.Under UV or high temperature drying, cyanine and ochre would faded in varying degrees.The classification of Chinese landscape painting based on design method primarily. Cyanine and ochre has the most obvious effect on the light purple landscape, more or less on other forms of landscape painting, among the blue and green landscape, the golden landscape, the light purple landscape and the linesless landscape.Cyanine and ochre has interdependent relationship with ink in Chinese color landscape painting, whose status has made a corresponding adjustment, from Nan Dynasty with draw on basis of different kinds, Song Dynasty with the testimonies, Yuan Dynasty with artistic conception to Ming and Qing Dynasty whose communication between East and West.Chinese landscape painting and the western landscape painting has a significant difference in the sense of color, cyanine and ochre is their boundary.This paper is mainly technical inquiry for color language and the evolution of Chinese color landscape painting, which analyzed the landscape painters of the rule and the painting ideal, focuses on the ontology of painting, followes one’s sensory experience, combines with production and practical application.The study of cyanine and ochre has a positive meaning for deepen our understanding of the aesthetic thought of the ancient landscape painters and inherit unique Chinese landscape painting.I hope this paper has a certain reference value to actual creation of landscape painting.
