"National identity" concept was first originated from politics, but because of its strong meaning and expression of humanistic color, it is widely used in journalism and communication, literature and etc now, so as to explore new research perspective, and strengthen the academic research depth.From the point of formation history, literature is formed in the public opinion, it is not only the expression of human’s inner thoughts, but also the depiction of subjective consciousness, so literature has an inseparable relationship with politics in some ways. Sino-Thai literature is even more so, the rise and fall of Sino-Thai literature is closely connected with the Thai politics for a long time, especially after the 1980s.Due to the steady development of relationship between China and Thailand, Sino-Thai literature also showed a flourishing trend; what’s more, as an important part of the southeast Asian Chinese literature, Sino-Thai literature is also favored by the researchers from all over the world, and their researches from various perspective have achieved fruitful results, but only little reaserches can rise to the national identity issues. In view of this, based on this point as a starting point, this paper will take Sino-Thai novels since the 1980s as the object, and anlylyze the historical background and creative psychology through the relevant theories about sociology and national culture through field investigation, document literature, close reading, further reading and other research methods, so as to make adetailed analysis about the ational identity in the perspective of creation motive of Sino-Thai writers.As the immigrants with Thai master consciousness, the creators of Sino-Thai novels have always been seeking the balance between the national identity to Thailand and the ethnic identity to their own nation. Firstly, Sino-Thai literary world make Sino-Thai literature established on Thai society through various ways, and try to present the identity of one member in their own literature system to the readers, so as to get their acceptance. Secondly, Sino-Thai writers actively construct a whole national identity, and endeavored to show Thai social problems and put forward the solutions, they examine themselves and tried to resolve the Thai people’s misunderstanding and prejudice to Chinese, so as to build a harmonious situation of national unity; they praise the redeeming feature of reality regime to show their feelings to the residence country, and constructively criticizeits shortcomings to show their responsibility as citizens.Thirdly, they actively construct multicultural properties, actively retaining their native culture while absorbing local culture. At the same time, they also make examination and self-criticism to their own culture, so as to ensure the sustainable development of culture. In the end, they also dialectically look at the entry of foreign culture from the perspective of Thai and Chinese culture, and clearly show their attitudeas the inheritors of local culture. So the Sino-Thai works can retain the Chinese properties as much as possible when setting up Thailand’s national identity consciousness, and become the Chinese literary creation with local characteristics.
