Literature itself had both ethnicity and humanity. Despite the distances of time and space, but some culture, literature have still existed the similarities.Between ethnic groups who lived closer together, the exchanges and the influence are a common phenomenon. From these characteristics history,geography, culture, Vietnam experienced long periods of exchanges,acculturation of China, received and absorbed, and converted many cultures,respectively. Have to say, the influence of Chinese culture on medieval literature in Vietnam plays an important role, we can not be denied. In aspects of the Chinese’s influence culture have Confucianism, Taoism thought.Starting from this point of view, studying Confucianism, Taoism influence on medieval literature Vietnam, we can realize more deeply medieval literary thought Vietnam in general, and also to understand about the authors, works of literature Vietnam in particular; and for studies comparing the two Vietnamese- Chinese culture will have positive results, meaning. Nguyen Cong Tru(1778 – 1858) was brilliant both as a military strategist and economist. He was also a great figure and a poet in the history of Vietnam.His social status and career, especially complexity and diversity in his thoughts about literature, served as a origin of his sometime contradictory critics and evaluation, which are still a concern to the contemporary academic society and to all those who are interested in those thoughts. Among the celebrities of Vietnam, no one likes Nguyen Cong Tru. He is a special character. Because he had formed an illustrious career in many aspects, and all aspects was also original. And perhaps more specifically thing is life himself, his lifestyle is widely admired but seldom they were understood correctly about him. So, his effects that he researched hadn’t delved into the many facets of his literary yet, especially those relating to the specialliterature and differences in attitudes of scholar Nguyen Cong Tru, compared with the past and contemporary. Studying the Confucianism and Taoism thought affects to Nguyen Cong Tru’s thought it will be contributed to understand the ideological content in poetry Nguyen Cong Tru as well as authors in medieval literature of Vietnam. It is also attempts of a Fellow Vietnam in China to implement in the thesis.The dissertation consists of three parts: introduction, main part and conclusion. The introduction is the reason, meanness choosing topics. To implement dissertation, it has the research ideas and history, status of research,theories and basic research methods. The main part is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces about Nguyen Cong Tru, as well as his life and era of this famous author medieval literature Vietnam lived. This chapter focuses on emphasizing about Nguyen Cong Tru’s backgrounds,careers and era that influenced the ideological content of his poetry, as well as the programs, books that he spent. Chapter two focuses on Confucianism,Taoism thought that penetrate and spread in Vietnam. In chapter two, after having a brief historical appearance and spread of Confucianism, Taoism in Vietnam over the period, it puts the emphasis on Confucianism and Taoism in the Nguyen Dynasty- era Nguyen Cong Tru lived and worked; besides it also introduces some typical authors before Nguyen Cong Tru who were influenced by Confucianism and Taoism. So that, highlighting the similarities and differences, Nguyen Cong Tru’s features with predecessors. Chapter 3focuses on studying Confucian thought that influenced to the composition of Nguyen Cong Tru in aspects: concepts of Confucianism, specifically expressed in the concept of willpower man, the important candidates program… The fourth chapter focuses on introducing Taoism thought that affected to Nguyen Cong Tru’s composing through poetry, through themes,through to manner. Besides emphasizing Taoist thought through singing and saying style – it is a major contributor of Nguyen Cong Tru in the culturalhistory of Vietnam, as well as Taoist thought through idle and optimistic topics in poetry of Nguyen Cong Tru, the thesis emphasizes the big discovery in the “V?nh s?” topic that hadn’t been mentioned to study about Nguyen Cong Tru before, particularly “V?nh s?” topic expresses the influence Taoist thought. Chapter 5 the thesis focuses on the relationship between Confucianism and Taoism thought in the composition of Nguyen Cong Tru.Because he comprehended Confucianism and Taoism thought, there was nothing to be afraid of the binding of an era, So it made for him a noble personality, a great soul who lives in admiration. So, sometimes people think that there is a conflict in his soul. But actually there is a contradiction in his unified soul. That makes Nguyen Cong Tru manner with contributions for age and country.The concluding section emphasizes the role of Nguyen Cong Tru for cultural history, namely literature of Vietnam. Based on Nguyen Cong Tru research, thesis will be applied to study Vietnam medieval literature authors,Based on studying the influence of Confucianism and Taoism to Vietnam.
