Shanghai belongs to the whole country, and has strong economic linkage with the wholecountry after its opening to the world in1843. After the liberation, with the establishment of thenew democratic economy, the linkage become more closely, because that the government makecontinuously strengthen to the national economic development. The development of Shanghaicannot continue without the support of the whole country, and shanghai support the wholecountry. Although not was the state investment, but because of its strong technology power,Shanghai undertake the historical mission support to the national construction in1949-1958.Shanghai made full mobilization to support national economic construction, such as the Huai-heRiver project, the mainland industrial construction, the five year constructive projects. Thesupport mainly included the resources, personnel and technical equipment. After the first tenyears of the New Republic of China, shanghai made fully support from1958to1978.After thereform and opening up, along with the transformation of economic system in China, its systemcontext disappeared, but with the development of the economy, the spirit of shanghai`s support tothe whole country not only obtained continuation, but also showed some new characteristics.
