A Study On Propagation And Adaption Of Orature In The Blue Chronicle By Injinash

Injinash was a famous Mongolian author in19th century. Based on the Mongolian history, cultural and literary tradition, he created a new literary style by delicately combining multi-ethnic cultures. We can understand that "The Blue Chronicle" was a work combined between historical facts and traditional orature by himself in order to express his national consciousness and sentiments. It was a unique writing technique in the history Mongolian literature. Injinash cited oratural tales, proverbs, legends, Irool, ballads, Irtinchiin Gorev, riddles, affixes, argot and paronomasia to write "The Blue Chronicle". Those forms of literature have been used in historical literature and also organically combined even with modern literature. He had finally completed the precious heritage in Monglian literature and history. This paper focuses in the propagation and adaptation of orature in "The Blue Chronicle", propagation of oratural genre and folklore orature, and innovation of oratural genre.This paper consists of introduction, four chapters of body conclusion, references and appendix. The introduction includes reasons and significance of topic selection, aims and methods of research, and the summary of publication of Injinash’s literary works, general situation of study on "The Blue Chronicle", and comparative study on "The Blue Chronicle " and orature.Chapter One mainly focuses on the propagation of oratural genre in "The Blue Chronicle". In this chapter, I discusses Injinash’s usage of tales from historical literature in order to express his thoughts and ideas, forms and characteristics of his usage of proverbs, character-construction through desciption in stories and types of praise on heroes used in "The Blue Chronicle".Chapter Two mainly discusses the propagation of folklore orature in "The Blue Chronicle". Injinash’s propagation and usage of orature with marriage customs, Eriin-gurvan-naadam(the three games of men), Irool of Cradle, Sachuul Milaaleg, Mongolian naming customs, custom of marking on doors and funeral customs all become the treasure for sociological research.Chapter Three mainly discusses the adaption of oral verse in "The Blue Chronicle". Based on the original function of Irool that wishes future good luck and happiness, Injinash adapted blessing words, words of benison, proverbs, verse of ballads, argot and paronomasia in the work.Chapter Four mainly discussed the adaption of hero-legend, dramatic games and argot in "The Blue Chronicle". Injinash did not only adapt the portrayal in hero-legend and riddle to a new level but also create a new literary writing method and successfully adapted Messengers’ Words which is another oratural genre and argot.Injinash was highly literate in Mongolian and Chinese language and culture. Because of that, he created a new literary style on the base of Mongolian literature and cultural communication.
