According to McLuhan’view,"the global village" era is an age of auditory model culture dominant. On the one hand, things is affected by external things every moment, whether it is in sight or distant; on the other hand, all the information from all directions and at the same time mutual influence. Last thing is replaced with synchronic and time gradually is offset by the space, just as the trend to "all things at the same time perception". From the point of cultural development, the mutual influence between the national cultures begin to dominate.The development of literary theory is similar to it. As a well-known Chinese scholar in the summary of literary development in the new period puts it,"the development of Chinese literary theory in the new period, just Like other cultural forms, is in the ancient and modern complicated contradictions, But it mainly is faced with the relationship between Chinese and western problems and contradiction. Contradictions and relation between the ancient and modern in the new era still have reflected, but its importance has give way to the contradictory relationship between China and the west, and has permeated among them.Due to the rapid social transformation, the development of Chinese literary theory in the new century produced a series of new criticism, such as image culture, ecological criticism, media issues of the cultural criticism. The criticism form development also is restricted by the above rules. Among them, the medium of cultural criticism (media and literature criticism) is particularly affected by the attention of people. How to periodically rethinking and summarize the existing achievements and shortcomings and promote the criticism to develop has become the inevitable theoretical task today. Because in exploration some problems have been exposed, for example,"phenomenal description is more than worth analysis, which is theoretical not strong; Make the humanities academic a pure technical analysis, beat around the bush in the concepts and symbols, elucidating the literary theories less problems; Excessive "interpretation" of the problem and so on.Because the critical form inspired by McLuhan media thoughts, this thesis choose "media and criticism of literature" on the new century to discuss and reflect "media and literature"criticism. Specifically, I will talk from the following three aspects generally according to the logical sequence of the acceptance actually occurred. The first part, the main research is conclusion McLuhan medium of thought on the basis of his unique literary criticism. Specifically, Marshall McLuhan media ideas’theoretical foundation is an extension of human due to technology change, the basic premise is in the medium of social historical influence-the creation of the environment, cultural change brought about by the inspection center for the media awareness, Logical link by the medium as the law of development; Metaphysics and humanistic perspective of media constitute a significant feature of media. McLuhan not only has different general media research, but also has distinctive research on literate criticism. His media thoughts and literary criticism has formed the interdependent relationship. On the one hand, his knowledge of media from those interpretation of literary works constitute the foundation and source of his media thought and his thoughts is a kind of media as well as the view of theory of "art" to the media. On the other hand, his knowledge of literature and art from a technical/media perspective, is also a kind of media/technology point of view of literary research and interpretation.The second part, we mainly study the McLuhan medium theory spreading and accepting during more than30years in China. We’re from three aspects to comb it. First of all, we are from vertical dimension to study, specifically, accept phase (roughly is bounded in the late1990s, is divided into distinct two stages before and after) as the basis to comb; Second from the horizontal perspective, We specific studies McLuhan media theory in China’s spreading and accepting, Chinese scholar’s understanding and interpretation; Finally, we take the problem as the center, from Marshall McLuhan media theory and perturbation, the mutually between Chinese context into perspective and has a critical summary of McLuhan’Chinese acceptance.The third part, we mainly study of Chinese literature in the new century " media and literature criticism theory of McLuhan’s acceptance and contextual again, from the view of media change, the discussion of media and literature study, literary criticism to explore three aspects of the path to systematically summarize it on the impact of literary criticism in the new century. Although the criticism in the new century due to be inspired by some sort of McLuhan media ideas, it promote their own development.However as the incomplete acceptance, and it affected its further development. Therefore from the Angle of methodology, this thesis points out that we can go from "media technology","medium is the culture","medium is the perception","medium is the environment" four interconnected perspective to conduct extensive and in-depth research.Always together,the three constitute a complete dynamic process of the acceptance to McLuhan in China’s literary criticism,also make up a complete picture of our research. |
