The inscriptions material of Qi in Eastern Zhou Dynasty is very rich, includingbronze inscriptions, weapon inscriptions, XiYin, currency, and so on. Judging fromthe time, the writing material has been found from the early time of Spring andAutumn Period to Warring States Period. Judging from the regional, we have foundthe inscriptions of Qi, Lu, Zhu, Teng, Xue, Ju, Ni and other countries. Especially theinscriptions of Qi are much rich. The material itself wasn’t tampered by posterity,which is the true portraiture of the social life at that time and which carries veryimportant historical information. This article’s research object is the inscriptions of Qiand we organize these inscriptions’ content. Also we will reveal its historical value, inorder to be good to the research of shandong history, especially good to Qi history ofEastern Zhou Dynasty.This paper’s main body is divided into two parts. The first part mainly aims atthe relevant historical problems of Qi inscriptions for study. This part is divided intosix chapters:In the first chapter we mainly reviewed the various inscriptions’ record of Qi andthe research achievements of scholars of different period from the viewpoint ofacademic history. In this chapter, we introduced some research achievements relevantto the inscriptions since Song Dynasty and we point out that the scholars’ mainresearch achievements of each period and the main research characteristics of eachperiod. In this chapter, we also have a summary of scholars in Song and Qing and totheir main research achievements in text interpretation we have some illustrations.And we point out that in the research process, we should pay attention tocontemporary scholars’ research results, and at the same time, we should pay moreattention to the opinions of the preciously existing.In the second chapter we make bronze inscriptions as the center and point outthat Qi bronze inscriptions’ research value to Teng, Zhu, Ni and any other EasternZhou countries. Also we study Bao’s and Chen’s lineage problem of Qi. According to Qi’s bronze inscriptions, we study some ancient national history research relatedproblems to "Pi ","Qi, Ji,","Shi","狐駘國" and "Shandong’s Qin problems". Inaddition we also discuss the historical events background of "Qi besiege Lai, crusadeJu","ChenZhang crusade Yan". Some problems such as "calendar day system","Yingapparatus and marriage condition" and "Qi inscriptions’ ancient legend" has beeninvolved in. All things we talk about aims at revealing the important value of Qi inhistory study.In the third chapter we regard the weapon inscriptions as the center, we introducesome related situation about Qi, Lu,Teng’s weapon inscriptions. We classify Qiweapon inscriptions according to the shape and on the basis of the existingclassification results we study each weapon’s belonging type. We make sure eachweapon’s general era. According to the weapon inscriptions, our emphasis is militarysystem problem of Qi reflected by the weapon inscriptions. We discussed andsummarized some problems about "weapon shape and impresa format","weaponcasting location and supervision system","armory Settings","strategic defenselayout" of Qi during Warring States Period and we also study some of the placenames from the weapon impresa.In the fourth chapter we study the official system and administrative systemwhich reflected by Qi impresa combined with XiYin and TaoWen. We emphasis atbureaucracy seen in various impresa of Qi during Spring and Autumn Period and theWarring States Period. Also we discuss “the administrative level division" of Qi andthe setting conditions of "capital, counties, Li and Sui".In the fifth chapter we have a targeted research on work officer types and "officercamp, private ceramics development","officer camp, private handicraft industrymanagement system","mark and market’s function and trade","currency circulationand economic development"," measurement system"of Qi during Warring StatesPeriod combined with Taowen, currency and Jinwen materials. In this chapter, westudy the official and private pottery site settings of Qi combined with thearchaeological discovery of Qi’s old city around, and also we involve the organizationof the official and private pottery. We also discussed the important role ofcommodities trading market of pavilion at that time. And we also introduced kinds ofcurrency of Qi during Estern Zhou Dynasty and all kinds of currency’s era of casting and prevalence. In the last part of this chapter, we have a discussion on official weighof JiangQi period, Chen’s weigh and TianJi official weigh system and point out therelation and difference between Chen’s weigh and TianJi official weigh system.In the sixth chapter we also discuss some problems "sacrifice object","familyname","patriarchal and regulations and posthumous title" related to social customseen from Qi impresa materials integrating all sorts of impresa materials. Weintroduce some gods like "son of heaven","Da Si Ming","Da Wu","Si Zhe","NanGong zi" described in the inscriptions combined with "Huan Zi Mengjing pot"inscriptions. We study the surname species seen from Qi inscriptions combined withname private Xi and Taowen and research on some "compound surname" combinedwith documents recorded. In this chapter, we discuss some problems about therelationship of "DaZong" and "Xiao Zong" and "Di" and "Shu".The other part of the paper is material organizing part. We organize theinterpretation of Qi impresa text and enumerate some interpretation opinions of thebronze inscriptions, weapon inscriptions, XiYin inscriptions, currency inscriptionsand research and discriminate some academic opinions. To some character lack ofinterpretation and misinterpretation, we make some additional interpretation orchanging interpretation. Based on this, we rewrite the interpretation of all kinds ofimpresa explanation in order to provide a relatively reliable annotation for the study inrelative field.The research object of this paper is mainly about Qi impresa itself, so we don’tinvolve some problems related to the text theory and the text configuration.Researching on Qi inscriptions from the angle of history is the starting point andfoothold.
