Bamboo pole poem is a special literary form, which named like Sung Phrase, looks like Seven-character Poems, but it is neither. It originates from Chu, and no later than the mid-Tang Dynasty. Since the1980s, it attached importance to people day after day. At present, in collation of bamboo pole poems, the largest study of this kind is the Zhuzhi ci Complete works by Qiu Liang ren. Many academic achievements of poetry, pay much attention to the appreciation and annotation studies, as well as the systematized ones. The scholars become interested in the origin time, places and evolution, about bamboo pole poems, and the rules of style, content, rhyme, and so on. The study and understanding of poems address such diverse considerations as region, dynastic history, and their creators. However, there is certain deficiency of research on this field, such as who is the inaugurator, Du Fu or others. And there is much academic gap to be filled, such as styles and alternative names. Nowadays, the most urgent is an academic treatise, which will do contribution to a holistic study of Bamboo pole poetry.This dissertation falls into seven parts according to dynastic order, except the introduction. As the number of poems excessive, the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China divided into two chapters.Chapter one deals with the origin time, regions, about bamboo pole poetry, and the styles, forms, title, linguistic features, alternative names and so on. This chapter also points out that bamboo pole poem is originated from Chu, and it occurs in late the mid-Tang Dynasty. In this period, the bamboo pole poems have six forms and forty-two names.Chapter Two mainly concerns basic questions about bamboo pole poetry in Tang Dynasty, such as who is the inaugurator, who is the most important poet in creation of bamboo pole poem. After analysis, Du Fu is not the inaugurator of bamboo pole poems, and, Bai Juyi and Liu Yuxi carries equal importance in the history of bamboo pole poem.Chapter Three:Bamboo pole poem in Sung Dynasty achieved breakthroughs in forms and artistic methods. The theme of poems shifted to the local scenery legends. At the same time, this Chapter teases out the regionalization of poems transmission and explores the singing styles of the refrain.Chapter Four emphasizes new features of bamboo pole poem in Yuan Dynasty, and does concrete studies in geographical spread, theme, linguistics and poets’ affective characteristics. After analysis, an intense provincial of consciousness engraved upon the poets, has contributed to the exchange of poems. The chapter also analyzes Yang Weizhen’s bamboo pole poems and his important position in the history of bamboo pole poems.Chapter Five:After analyzing the evolution features of bamboo pole poems in Ming Dynasty, on the influence of the social environment and literature trends, secularization becomes a new character in bamboo pole poems. It is the first time the bamboo pole poems have sprung up from all around the country, which makes essential foreshadowing for Qing Dynasty.Through collecting and listing over a hundred Bamboo pole poems, the Chapter Six expounds the reason why the unusually prosperity in Qing Dynasty. And by analyzing word order in poems, this chapter also summarizes the achievements of theoretical research of bamboo pole poems in Qing Dynasty.Through addressing the poems merged with the chorography, the further bomb and expurgation of poems all around the country come to a brief summarize in the Chapter Seven. In the late Qing Dynasty, other countries come into the sight of bamboo pole poems. the last part of this chapter do some research on Bamboo pole poems in relation to business, prostitution,officialdom and other countries.
