In the process of social transformation in modern China, the debate about culture had been the focus of intellectuals. In the May Fourth movement, against traditional culture, wholesale westernization became an instant liberals bright flags. However, with the setbacks in the Chinese liberalism, liberals finally realized that the Chinese cultural innovation must break the tradition and modern, Chinese and western binary thinking mode, and found a fusion and intergrowth development road. In this path of exploration process, Yin Hai-guang’s life and the attitude of the traditional culture change in position was very typical. As the "son of the May Fourth Movement", Yin Hai-guang’s life to inherit the " the May Fourth new culture" for causes-literacy, exalted "science" and "democracy" banner, explored liberalism in Chinese society’s survival and development path. His own unique personality, and early family and educational background resulted in the rebellion tendency of the traditional culture in the early period of Yin Hai-guang. Meanwhile, China’s backwardness in the long-term of modern times and the internal and external problems of the special circumstances of that time further stimulated his disgust to the traditional culture. China’s Hu in succession since the liberal stance on the anti-traditional culture, the Yin Hai-guang obtained through the methodology of logical empiricism weapons, making criticism of the traditional culture seemed to be a "rational case". Besides carrying forward the anti-traditional stance of the Liberalism in China to culture since Hu Shi, Yin Hai-guang obtained the methodology weapons through logical empiricism, making the criticism of the traditional culture seemed to obtained a "rational case". Therefore, there was "emotional" and "rational" tension in Yin Hai-guang’s attitudes towards traditional culture. Indeed, though Yin Hai-guang built very fine theoretical construction of criticism theory of the traditional culture through logical empiricism, the rejection psychology to traditional culture inevitably resulted in he got into a kind of simplistic, one-sided of the cognitive errors towards the traditional culture. However, the concept of Yin Hai-guang cultural shifted towards far more than his own limited understanding of the significance of traditional culture. On one hand, this manifested a liberalism intellectuals for pursuit-of-truth spirit of persistent. On the other hand, it presented Chinese liberalism in the process of development gradually realized a kind of cultural if new circumstances obtain growth and development, it must seek to find theory of joint point with the native culture. On the way of pursuit of thought, Yin Hai-guang gradually from the Review of Western liberal thoughts turned to how to liberalism for an academic exploration in China, from criticism of the shortcomings of traditional culture turned to reflect on their fair value, and built a platform for communication and dialogue between liberalism and traditional culture. There were two books worth noting about the change of Yin Hai-guang cultural view of his later years. One book was the only one monograph of Yin Hai-guang to discuss cultural issues-" The Prospect of Chinese Culture ", Another was compiled by Professor Chen, who was the student of the Yin Hai-guang,"Spring Silkworms spinning-last words". The former systematically presented the Yin Hai-guang basic stance towards traditional culture and attitudes, outlined the future direction of Chinese culture. The book was not a departure from the cultural perspective of research work, more like a "cultural Declaration" of liberalism in China. The latter presented a complete view of Yin Hai-guang about the result of cultural transfer into the spiritual path, and also saved some mature insights on cultural issues in Yin Hai-guang’s later years. Of course, the concept of Yin Hai-guang culture was not just confined to this two texts. The essays and other articles which were published in every period by Yin Hai-guang provided a rich and detailed information for this topic research.Frankly speaking, Yin Hai-guang on Chinese culture problem of exploration was Chinese liberalism development in an important link pedigree link. Yin Hai-guang transcended Hu Shi headed the May Fourth new culture movement period intellectuals on traditional culture to "monism" thought patterns. After Yin Hai-guang, the subsequent researchers and liberal intellectuals, such as Lin Yu-sheng, Zhang Hao, Wei Zheng-Tong, continued on the unfinished business of Yin, and made a wide variety of theoretical designs on how the modern transformation of traditional cultures. Their recognition with traditional cultures was a step forward to Yin Hai-guang’s. With the new Confucian as a representative of the conservative culture standpoint compare, liberalism and cultural conservatism trend emerge from early fights, later fusion of a development situation.Through Yin Hai-guang’s culture concept and its evolution, it can be found that the modern transformation of traditional culture was not simple grafting between the traditional and modern, Eastern and Western culture, but was in search of the joint point for growth between traditional culture and modern culture, Eastern culture and Western culture based on the special circumstances of the Chinese community. Here, one hand, it can get rid of the side not suited to modern society in traditional culture; the other hand, it can overcome the modern crisis in Western culture. Therefore, besides the rational reflection of traditional cultures, how to achieve "the creative transformation" in China’s traditional culture not only related to the future development of Chinese culture, but also the theoretical problem that the liberal culture can root in the soil of culture and ideology in China.
