A-B Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion(hereinafter referred to as A-B Classic) is the earliest acupuncture treatises in China up to present. Since it was written in the Western Jin Dynasty, it was a required course in doctor of traditional Chinese medicine training. In a lot of literature in Jin Dynasty A-B Classic has been recorded and won undivided admiration. The students of the Official Institute of the Imperial Physicians had to learn it since Sui and Tang Dynasty. A-B Classic was introduced into Japan and Korea in this period, then plays an important role in the study of acupuncture and moxibustion. It was not only a milepost type in the development of acupuncture but also has highlight contribution in documentary work and the protection of ancient books and book series.The prevalence and importance of A-B Classic has been explored extensively by researchers, from the literature, textual research to clinical practice, however, the depth of the study there is still room for development. To solve this problem, this study used the literature methodology, bibliography, examined the A-B Classic version spread, comprehensive analysis of the contents combined with the medical principle. In order to clarify the compilation of ideas by A-B Classic. This study has practical significance for literature research and clinical application of acupuncture and moxibustion.This paper from the five aspects of the A-B Classic research:1. Analysis the background of A-B Classic from three aspects, which Huang Fu Mi’s own conditions, the social environment and the academic background.2.Study the version of A-B Classic. Sums up A-B Classic from catalogue of past dynasties to collect different editions remaining, then found nine kinds of ancient books named A-B Classic from national library and library of the Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese Medicine and Japan Seikado Bunko. Comparative analysis found that the nine kinds of ancient books could be classified into four categories:version of Yi tong; version of Lan ge; version of Ji Gu ge; version of Orthodox. Proofread to each other used the four versions of A-B Classic,4966 different points are found. Analysis of advantages and disadvantages of each version, and identifies the version of Lan ge and the version of Ji Gu ge were from the same source in Song Dynasty. This discovery will change the history of the earliest existing version of A-B Classic to Song Dynasty.3. Analyzes the content of A-B Classic, picked out the quotation which is taken from Huangdi’s Internal Classics, and found the article about "Zhen Dao" gave Huang Fu Mi with enlightenment. Meanwhile, try to find the method of compile the source material and try to seek the rule.4. Analyzes the acumoxibustion prescription in A-B Classic, and try to seek the rule to prove the relationship between acupoint and meridians, and discuss points arranged on this basis.5. Summarize the results of the research.This study reviews the version of A-B Classic, it’s useful to people to understanding of the text and select the points during the treatment of disease.innovation point1. Proof of the newly discovered version of A-B Classic;2. Study the compilation method of A-B Classic by using medical knowledge and knowledge of literature.3. Reconsider the relationship between acupoints and Primordial Qi; Ying Qi and Wei Qi and Meridian by refer to Huangdi’s Internal Classics and Difficult Classic.
