So as not only to provide guidance for the clinical application was safe andeffective, but lay the foundation and open mind for the literature research of other drugs.Methods: TCM literature research and mathematical statistics methods werecombined First, summarizing the works of ancient Chinese literature containing theexplanation and discussion of the Asarum; Second, mathematical statistics and data miningmethods were used together to study using law of Asarum with reducing toxicity andincreasing effect. Fourth, dosage and compatibility of drugs of Asarum for commonsyndromes were researched according to big prescription, middle prescription and smallprescription, and inherent relationship between drugs and diseases, drugs and syndromeswas extracted by searching association rules to summarize utilizing law of Asarum.Results:1. The relevant factors with the impact of toxicity-efficacy of Asaruminclude: part for drug, collection and formulation, dosage, form, access of taking drugs,drug leading, main disease and syndrome.2. By easing toxicity with sweetigh, goingagainst dryness with the soft, going against with the acid, Asarum’s toxicity can be reduced;dwelling on the cold and unlocking the aperture with the warm, warming lung and gettingrid of phlegm with the hot, stopping cough and cultivating blood with the acid, clearinghert and fire with the cold, spreading moist and body pain with the warm, tonifying andeliminating evil with the sweet, Asarums’s effect can be increased.3. Asarum internalprescription for compatibile drugs with tonifying qi and blood, dispelling wind and moistsuch as Liquorice, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Chuanxiong, Cinnamon, Ginseng etc. werewarm and acrid, and can mainly treat headache, cough, apoplexy, arthralgia and so on,while main syndromes containing hot-wind syndrome, wind phlegm syndrome, phlegmatichygrosis syndrome, cold-wind syndrome ect. Prescription for part body included durgs with pungent and warm for relieving superficies syndrome and Wenyang Huoxue as wellas Fragrant Tongqiao, such as Dahurica, ChuanXiong, Saposhnikovia Divaricata, Angelica,Musk ect., which were warm and acrid or cold and bitter, mainly treating teethache,gingival atrophy, saprodontia, ulcer and so on, main syndromes including hot-windsyndrome, toxic xie running outside syndrome, toxic-wind syndrome, rheumatic syndromeetc.4. Asarum powder was used to treat headache with the amount of1g and weakheadache for soup or boiling powder with dosage of0.6-1.0g; Asarum soup or boilingpowder was used to treat cough with amont about1g. Asarum soup was used to treat insidecough with amount of56g; Asarum soup also was to treat arthralgia of weak qi of liver andkidney with amount of75g. Asarum soup was to treat gastropyretic toothache withGypsum, Anemarrhena, Coptis ect. by gargling with amount of10g; small prescription totreat teethache for hotwind combing Saposhnikovia Divaricata, Dahurica,ChuanXiong ect.gargling with amount of1.5g.Conclusion:1The toxicity of Asarum is objective, and the toxicity and effect wereboth from the property of Asarum.
