Objectives:To study the effects of different post space preparation on the bond strength of fiber post.Methods:48single-root human teeth with straight root canals were divided into four experimental groups according to the different times of post space preparation and whether preserve the post space during obturation. Group A:preserve the post space during the obturation and the post space was prepared immediately after obturation. Group B:preserve the post space during the obturation and delayed post space preparation was performed2weeks later after obturation. Group C:The post space was prepared immediately after normal obturation. Group D:Delayed post space preparation were performed2weeks later after normal obturation.A push-out test was performed to evaluate post-root canal dentin interfacial strength. Differences of the bond strength among experimental groups were analyzed. Results:There is no significant difference of bond strength among each third of root canal in every group. In apical third significantly higher bond strength was achieved in group A compared with that of group D. In middle third the significantly lower bond strength was observed in group D compared with that of other groups. Conclusions:The immediate post space preparation with preserve the post space during the obturation is recommended.
