Spatial morphology is an essential landscape resource of traditional rural settlement which also acts as the spatial carrier to reflect and carry the historical and cultural characteristics of villages. However, the current planning and construction of villages is destroying the villages’ primordial morphology, and it is also interrupting the heritage context of traditional chatacteristics of villages’ space texture. It was figured out that there were two main factors causeing this problem, one was ignoring the importance of villages’ subjectivity and regularity, the other one was lacking analysis of villages’ inherent quantization law and lacking of consideration of these quantization law during the practices of village palnning and construction. Therefore, a parametric technology was proposed to use to analysis the inherent quantization law of villages’ space texture due to its advantages of digital, three-dimensional visualization and dynamic. It was proposed that the parametric technology could also used to aid the design of villages’ space texture, which was hoped to promote the heritage of traditional features of villages’ space texture healthily, and to design a space texture which contains both traditional and modernity characteristics.The main content of this paper consists of the following aspects:①A detailed study of the current village planning problems and the analysis of these problems’ causing was conducted from the perspective of heritage of traditional features.②the evaluating and comparing of differents methods of villags’ spatial analysis and renconstruction were carried out in this paper, and some weakness of these methods was pointed out. Moreover, this paper also researched the develop trends of parametric technonlogy’s application in the field of urban and rural planning, and the results showed that it would has a good development.③The paper focused on researches of parametric analysis and reconstruction techniques of road texture, parcel texture and construction texture and bases on numerous experiments as well as constant improvement of technologies, finally realizing the completed process from "spatial texture" to "parameters and regulations", from "parameters and regulations" to the reversion of "spatial texture" utilizing computers, thus successfully detailing each morphological characteristic as relevant parameters and parameter extraction rules.④A similarity and reasonable evaluation system of spatial texture bettwen the initially one and the regenerated one was pulled out to ensure the rationality of the process of parametric analysis and reconstruction. ④This paper proposed parametric transformation of research results as well as application methods, and also explained the methods to solve the existing problems in current village planning by using parametric technology.⑥Dongshedun Village, Zhongguan Town, Deqing County was chosen as the case of empirical study. Parametric programming and designing methods were utilized to design the macroscopic spatial texture of this village. Contrastive analysis with the programming and designing scheme under the mainstream pattern was also conducted.The result shows that:①The parametric planning technology can analysis the inherent rule of villages’ spatial texture comprehensively, quantitatively and precisely.② Parametric technology possesses strong applicability of the programme and design of village’s spatial texture which can conduct inversion of spatial morphology and realize the optimization of the programming scheme by adjusting parameters as well as rules.③The result of empirical study shows that parametric programming method is more creative than traditional labor programming and designing method(countless schemes can be generated theoretically), and the generated spatial texture can not only inherit the traditional characteristics but also meet the needs of modern life.④Parametric programming and designing method is quite rational. Although it possesses certain artificial intelligence, it can not substitute human brains. Programming scheme generated by this method can not be directly utilized, it only can act as assistant designing scheme. Only after artificial adjustment and amendment can this scheme be applied.⑤In addition to the application in macroscopic village programme and design of spatial texture, parametric technology possesses larger application prospect in various aspects such as informatization, dynamism and 3D visual management of urban-rural planning and construction as well as public engagement of programming process.
