The System Planning Method Research Of Urban Furniture

Humans are the core for the success of the urban space. As one of the urban vessels, each street offers all kinds of rights of way to public landspace, and creates the environmental network of human life. Every detail of the street manifests the quality of a city. Various visual elements of the city have been included in the streets, revealing the comprehensive image of the city.This study focuses on the human behavior-based systematic design to improve the aesthetic qualities of street space and relevant urban furniture. It takes aims at the aesthetic creation of urban street space, and analyzes the relationship between human activities and the overall improvement of urban image from the perspective of artistic design, so as to support city administrators in implementing space construction and shaping urban image. Methodologically, the artistic design based on human outdoor behaviors is reviewed systematically, and aesthetic layout that contributes to the overall street spatial image is explored from the humanistic angle by integrating the outdoor behaviors of people with compositions of street space.The study mainly covers urban visual elements such as urban furniture, public service facilities and art works that are distributed in the streets. This belongs to “physical planning” in the broad field of architecture, but this paper narrows its study scope to street space and focuses mediate and microscopic aspects.Along with the progress of urbanization and urban-rural integration in China, street aesthetic design encounters many practical and urgent problems such as changeless street views and unordered supporting facilities. Many domestic experts and scholars have expressed their opinions on urban space aesthetics. Some are inspiring, infeasible to guide the practice. Therefore, the improvement of street spatial quality lies in not only the orderly construction of various visual elements and the combination of regional characteristics, also the delicate integration of space, city people and nature in the aesthetic design.Forming shapes is the basic technique of artistic design, while shaping image is the ultimate goal. For artistic creation of street space, the goal is that to create the environmental beauty, so that people can appreciate the image of visual design and eventually develop nice spirit of the city. This is also the ultimate goal of this study.
