In recent years, the logistics in China develops extremely fast, which promotes the development of warehousing industry, In both practices and scientific researches, there are great concerns about the new technologies of warehousing. The warehousing management and the automated warehousing have been widely concerned in the academic circle. Warehousing is an important part in the logistics and supply chain. The automated warehousing technology has been gradually and widely used in the productive enterprise, distribution center and warehousing and logistic center. How to improve the efficiency of automated warehousing? How to design automated warehousing system for the current warehousing of enterprise? What are the influential factors that affect the enterprise when they are accepting automated warehousing technologies? It is not only the development of academic research, but also the urgent demands of practice to research these issues.This paper focuses on the design of automatic compact system and its promising application, which theoretically makes contributions to the design of automatic compact system. Moreover, the study make empirical analysis of the promising application of automatic compact system. Based on the mathematical model and optimization solution and the method of empirical study, this paper studies the design of the automatic compact system, and makes an analysis of factors influencing enterprises making use of automatic compact technology, from the perspectives of the design and application of automatic compact system. According to different research emphasizes, the paper may be divided into two parts below:According to the research perspectives, this paper is divided into two parts:For the first part,3D compact automated storage/retrieval system of the automatic warehousing system is regarded as the study subject in the third and fourth chapter, which study the optimization design problems of3D compact AS/RS. The third chapter studies the optimization of system input and output point with the3D compact AS/RS as supporter. According to the research results, it is found that the efficient of system fetching goods is higher when the inlet and outlet of3D compact AS/RS are in the midpoint of goods shelf bottom than those in the left bottom of3D compact AS/RS. The fourth chapter studies the optimization of system dimensions with the input and output point of3D compact AS/RS in the midpoint of goods shelf bottom as the supporter. Through the previous research, this paper lastly discusses some management connotation and enlightenment that are with theoretical and practical value.For the second part, the fifth chapter studies and makes an analysis of factors influencing enterprises making use of automatic compact technology. Under the frame of technology, organization and environment (TOE) model, this paper makes filed survey on manufacturing enterprises, logistics enterprises and warehousing industry, etc., through which the author sorts out actors influencing enterprises making use of automatic compact technology. In addition, the author designs targeted questionnaires for representative enterprises. In this paper, the author conducted questionnaire survey on hundreds of inquirers by the means of sending emails, paper questionnaire and online communication. On withdrawing the questionnaires, the author makes an analysis of the effective questionnaires with the help of statistical software. In the final, this paper summarizes the influence factors and tests the model and hypothesis suggested by the study.Based on the research mentioned above, the main innovation points can be concluded as followed:(1) The paper uses two different kinds of research methods, the first one is to set up a mathematical modeling and to optimize and solve it. The other method is empirical research. The3rd and4th chapters of this paper make a research by setting up a mathematical modeling and to optimize and solve it. The4th chapter makes use of Kuhn-tucker (K-T) conditions of Operational Research to optimize and solve the mathematical model that set up in this paper. The5th chapter adopts the method called empirical research, which analyzes the factors that influence company’s intend towards automatic warehousing technology and sets up conceptual model by using technology-organization-environment frame and then verifies the suggested conceptual model by collecting statistics through questionnaire.(2) In the abstract, the innovation points of this paper are considering the design and application of automatic warehousing system. In the part of automatic warehousing system design, it studies out the influences that system’s inlet and outlet location towards system efficiency. It is stated in the3rd chapter that the optimal location of system’s inlet and outlet location in3D compact AS/RS is the middle point of bottom sole of goods shelf; In chapter four, it has been stated that the efficiency of3D compact AS/RS will be improved by twenty percent if the system’s inlet and outlet location is on the middle point of bottom sole of goods. The research on system’s inlet and outlet location of3D compact AS/RS in automatic warehousing system and the analysis of factors that influence company’s using intends toward automatic warehousing system make up for the inadequacies in documents about this two parts, which have an impulsively function to theoretical study.(3) The research results of this paper not only make some contributions to automatic warehousing system in theory, but also have some practical guiding significance in practical appliance. Enterprises can set up automatic warehousing system by referring to the first part of this paper which comes out a conclusion about automatic warehousing design. This paper reach a conclusion about automatic warehousing by using applied analysis that the factors that influence company’s usage of automatic warehousing can provide some references to the enterprises which produce automatic warehousing system.
