The thesis discussed the timber consumption of wooden architecture construction,and explored the impact of timber consumption on environment, and is of greatsignificance for understanding and solving environmental problems in nowadays.The thesis puts forward a series of assumptions, established an ideal state of theSui and Tang Dynasties in Chang’an, making the problem by complex becametraceable. Under this condition, build the wooden architecture construction theoreticalframework, and puts forward a method of the historical document and constructionsites combined. On this basis, the essay will take the wooden architecture site as apoint, deduce the Caifen modular by studying the column base in the site andthe relation between the column diameter and Cai. As the same time, it deducea conclusion that the Caifen modular in the Tang Dynasty was greater than SongDynasty. Then deduces the Sui and Tang Dynasty wooden architecture construction agrade sequence, which provides the theoretical foundation for the expansion.The essay will study on the wooden architecture by three methods.
