The Phenomenon And Feature Of Chinese Traditional Architecture Affected By The Concept Of Spatio-temporal Fusion

Speculation about Chinese traditional architectural characteristics has for a longtime, yet through look back upon previous research achievements of an immensenumber of books, we can obviously find an important factor of missing, that is “time”.Through systematically and comprehensively to investigate the Chinese traditionalarchitectural history, the author thinks that the idea of high fusion with "time" and"space" is one of important cultural roots to form the Chinese traditional architecturalfeatures, and with concept of spatial-temporal fusion to examine the traditionalarchitecture is not only a new research perspective but also a scientific attitude.Therefore, the paper established the target to explore the cultural characteristics oftraditional architecture from the angle of time and space, and in the first chapter in thelight of the concept of the time and space to choose the ancient or modern and itattributes, and to framing the concept and categories related traditional architecture, andused many kinds of methods combined with historical materials, discussion,phenomenon and the essence, and then put forward to research on this topic from threeaspects that is concept of spatial-temporal fusion and its cultural influence, thespatial-temporal phenomenon of traditional architecture, the spatial-temporalcharacteristics of traditional architecture.First, in the upper part with chapter2and3the paper research on background ofspatial-temporal fusion, and account concept of traditionally spatial-temporal fusion andits influence to culture related to the traditional construction. Through these studies wemay know overall logic process of the concept of Chinese spatial-temporal fusion,which provides a whole cultural background to understand the feature ofspatial-temporal fusion in Chinese traditional architecture.Then, in the intermediate part with chapter4,5and6the thesis respectively combsthe performance of “the spatial-temporal whole”,“the passage and change of time andspace”,“the significance and truth of space and time” in the traditional architecture.This part of the research is exploratory reviewing to Chinese traditional architecturalphenomenon from angle of time and space, whose purpose for demonstrating thatChinese traditional architecture is a rich image system contained the phenomenon offusion of time and space.And then, in the following part with chapter7this paper reveals the characteristics of traditional architecture with spatial-temporal fusion from several aspects of theperformance of traditional architectural characteristic, characteristic elements,composition of features and means of characteristics and so on. The author thinks thatthe Chinese traditional architecture based on Chinese origin thought of "time the mostimportant" and reflected four specific characteristics of overall, phenomenological,sensibility and value of time consistent with spatial-temporal characteristics. Throughthe mutual connection and organic union between two kinds of elements of the“phenomenon” of time and “entity” of space, the traditional architecture let the peoplein process of the experience feel the dynamic and static watch, sequence of time andspace each other, artistically interchange and image simulate each other formed by timeand space. Final it guide the traditional architecture to the ultimate target of harmonybetween man and nature with some kind of harmonious consciousness, and form themost ideal poetic occupation realm to Chinese living environment. This part of theresearch innovative put forward that Chinese traditional architecture has thecharacteristics of fusion of space and time, expect to fully exploit the potentialtraditional essence that can inherit and carry forward.Finally, the paper summative discusses to gain the revelation about activationinheritance of Chinese traditional architectural culture from spatial-temporal perspective,at the same time, also has a objective assessment to study the innovation points andlimitations, and looking to the subsequent research from the angle of view of time andspace, point out that the concept of spatial-temporal fusion may be one of the newmethod and used for reference for solving the problem of China building and city.
