Asphalt Concrete Pavement rutting is a common distress, the actual road performance shows that even if the road structure and materials is in full accordance with the asphalt pavement design requirements, The rutting of large longitudinal slopes section of the track is still very serious.Firstly, the date of the growth of the rutting was collected for large longitudinal uphills domestic asphalt pavement, the cause of the rutting in large longitudinal uphills asphalt pavement was analyzed preliminarily. By the deformation mechanism of asphalt concrete and finite element calculation, the asphalt pavement maximum shear stress of the overload, temperature, horizontal force, vertical gradient was analyzed. By the analysis of traffic safety and evaluating index of rutting, the control index of rutting of large longitudinal sections of uphill highway was proposed based on the traffic safety.Secondly, by the analysis of the inadequacies of current asphalt pavement rutting test methods and the rutting tester, the standard track instrument was modified so that the thickness of the rutting specimen is adjustable, the grinding wheel speed is adjustable, the grinding wheel load is adjustable, and the temperature gradient is adjustable. For simulate accurately the rutting condition of actual large longitudinal uphill highway asphalt pavement, the test methods and test conditions were improved. The low-speed rutting control standards was proposed through the changing disciplinary of dynamic stability at different driving speeds; What should be paid attention to was proposed through the deformation disciplinary of middle temperature rut research; through the full depth asphalt pavement rutting test, analyzed the problem of inadequate strength of the asphalt pavement in engineering works, and an optimized structure was put forward. Based on the above conclusions summarized, proposed the large longitudinal slope asphalt pavement materials and structures "dual control" design method and the principle of rutting resistance structural combinations.Finally, according to the proposed asphalt pavement materials and structures "dual control" design method and the principle of resistance to rutting structure combination, optimized the pavement structure combination of JingZhang highway and Yalu highway.
