Along with the coming of the information age, the most concerned problems in geotechnical are informatization of mining engineering. The mining engineers worked hard and got a great result. Starting with the main problems of the mining management, the author of this paper studied on geological data, and the creation of mine information system from the point of view of the practical application. Starting from basic principle of mine management and taking the establishment of mine management information system as concrete object, this dissertation put forward a general structure of MMIS. Through the comparison of domestic and international GIS software, chose ArcGIS as the application platform. Then this dissertation discussed the implementary techniques and environment. The important content of this paper are:⑴the theory and analysis of spatial database, the characteristics of spatial data model, and other problems with the building of a mine database;⑵the study on WebGIS architecture, and the related technology base on the C / S and B / S of the mixed mode of management information systems;⑶the study on the architecture of ArcIMS, and the step of building a website based on the B / S model system-related technology research;⑷the study on the C / S model of information systems based on Arc Engine. The establishment of a mine information management system which can manage massive data of mine, dynamic monitoring and forewarning, querying and calculating mine reserves;⑸the study on the technologies related dynamic monitoring and forewarning, such as disaster prevention and control technology;⑹the pilot study on management of mine reserves.The research of this dissertation has very realistic meanings for improving the information level of mine management and has very profound meanings for promoting the construction of "numerical mine". In the meantime, from the aspect of techniques, the development pattern adopting“ArcGIS Engine plus ArcIMS”, the successful development of the system will provide a good example to the similar systems and have the meanings of demonstrating.
