Foundry is not only the foundation of the manufacturing industry, but also the basic industry of the national economy. Sand casting is important casting method which has a wide range of application. The production process of sand casting is characterized by enormous energy consumption and serious environmental pollution, so there is a huge potential of energy and greenhouse reduction. Aiming at the problem of calculate the carbon emission and evaluate validity of the carbon efficiency, several key issues were researched. The main work of the dissertation was as follows:To solve the problem of constructing sand casting operational process model, expanded weighted and directed graph model of sand casting process based on event process node was established. First, with analyzing the carbon emission feature of sand casting production processes, the method for event process node of low-carbon sand casting were proposed. The model of process node and state transformation matrix based on event process were constructed. Furthermore, expanded weighted and directed graph model of sand casting process based on event process node were built to describe state of processing procedure, which offers the base for calculating and analyzing the carbon emission of sand casting.To solve the problem of calculating and analyzing the carbon emission of sand casting, a modeling method for carbon emission of sand casting based on process carbon sources was established. Eight process feature elements were built to describe the basic state of processing procedure. Five process carbon sources were constructed to compute the process carbon emission based on analyzing the feature of sand casting. The construction rules of process carbon sources were used to analyze the sand casting. The model of process sand casting was presented by using process carbon sources. The calculation model of process carbon sources was proposed based on the characteristics of sand casting production processes to compute the process carbon emission.To solve the problem of the carbon efficiency and low-carbon benchmarking, the model of carbon efficiency and low-carbon benchmarking based on process carbon sources were set up. Frist, the definition of carbon efficiency was given. The method of carbon efficiency were used to carry out measure of energy-conservation and emission-reduction effectively. With analyzing the production capacity, utilization of equipment, production cycle and Energy consumption, the four-dimensional model of carbon efficiency was built. Then, Grey incidence analysis method based on carbon efficiency model was used to evaluate carbon efficiency of sand casting process. Next, the low-carbon benchmarking architecture of sand casting was built. The similarity model of low-carbon benchmarking was established by considering influence of process route and process carbon sources similarity. Finally, the models of benchmarking modules carbon emission and production capacity were analyzed and benchmarking potential model of low carbon casing was built. The quantitative method of benchmarking potential was realized.To solve the problem of evaluation and calculation validity of carbon efficiency, evaluation and calculation validity model of carbon efficiency based on maturity for sand casting was studied. Frist, level structure of carbon efficiency based on maturity was proposed. The definition of carbon efficiency level was introduced. The describe model of carbon efficiency improvement capability and process module area for sand casting were constructed. Then, level determination method of carbon efficiency and relationship model of benchmarking route for sand casting were established. According to analyzing validity facts of improvement project, the evaluation validity method of the carbon efficiency based on self-advantage was presented. The calculation model of improvement project for carbon efficiency based on Mahalanobis Distance was given out.In the end, all of the above researches were summarized and there main innovative points were given out, several possible research directions of low-carbon sand casting which were discussed.
