Landslide triggered by earthquake is a common earthquake secondary disaster. According to the correlation study, the distribution of global earthquake belts and landslide belts has a remarkable consistency, which sufficiently reflects the earthquake’s great effect on the landslide. Therefore, the research on the stability of the slope under the earthquake has become a problem which attracts the attention of the experts.Due to the uncertainty of the material properties of the slope, especially the soil slope, the research on slope stability under the original complicated earthquake action becomes more difficult. In order to solve this problem, the paper takes soil slope as research object, considering the characteristics of slope itself and ground motions to analyze and evaluate the dynamic response law and the stability of soil slope under seismic load. The main achievements of the research are as follows:The dynamic response rules of soil slope under earthquake were analyzed. The paper simulated and analyzed the effect law of soil slope under ground motion with different characteristics of amplitude, spectrum and duration. It come to the conclusion that the three characteristics of amplitude, spectrum and duration in ground motion had an important effect on slope stability. The classification the soil slope type under seismic action is carried out. The paper used the method of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the weights of the factors which affect slope stability under seismic load, and select the influence factors of higher weight as the index to divide the oil slopes into four categories, and each type were categorized four small class according to the different slope gradient, which are gentle slope, gentle steep slope, steep slope and more steep slope.Based on strength reduction FEM, the method of judging soil slope stability state under earthquake action was analyzed. The paper defined the the length ratio of equivalent plastic strain zone in slope, and build the correspondence relationship between the length ratio of equivalent plastic strain zone in slope under earthquake and the safety coefficient by statistical analysis, and proposed a new method to judging the stability of the slope under earthquake by the length ratio of equivalent plastic strain zone. The stability of various soil slopes under earthquake action were evaluated and predicted in the paper. The stability of various types of the soil slopes under the ground motions were calculated, and the seismic hazard evaluation of various soil slopes were realized. At last, selecting the actual earthquake landslides to compare with evaluation and prediction in the paper to verify the accuracy, which has showed the evaluation and prediction of the slope stability were correct and believable.
