It is important to research the law of soil water content change caused by coalmining for ecological reclamation in western ecological fragile zone. Based on thedata detected by GPR, shallow and deep subsurface soil water content was calculatedby AEA and ARMA algorithm respectively, the spatial distribution of shallow strataand soil water content were given. The mining subsidence basins have been dividedinto three kinds of deformation zones according to the stress change and the differentdeformations of the subsurface strata. With the above analysis, the law of soil watercontent change caused by coal mining in different depths at different deformationzones had been analyzed in subsidence process. The soil water content of the shallowsubsurface in disturbed area was decreased gradually, but that in deeper was instead. If the medium is sand, the soil water content in the undisturbed area was higher thanthat in disturbed zone at all detection depth and the soil water content in thesubsidence basin bottom area was higher than that in other subsidence deformationarea. If the medium is clay, the soil water content in the undisturbed area was higherthan that in other subsidence deformation area at the depth of2-4.5m, but the situationwas opposite in the depth shallower and deeper than above depth scope. The soilwater content in dynamic subsurface subsidence zone is higher than that in theundisturbed area in the depth shallower than2.5m, but the situation was opposite inthe depth deeper than2.5m.
