Sphaeroceridae is a respectively bigger family in Diptera. Nearly 1400 species have been described which belong to 125 genera and 5 subfamilies around the world. The larvae of probably all species of Sphaeroceridae are saprophagous, some members of the family are coprophages, necrophagous, fungivore and phytophagous. A few species have been suspected to spread nematodes and germ organisms which can harm human health, certain species parasitize the human intestinal which cause myiasis. On the other hand, most species are significant because they speed up the process of decay and nutrient recycling. In China, there are 59 species, which belong to 22 genera and 3 subfamilies, including only 27 species in Chinese Mainland. Despite the fact that the natural and geographical conditions are extremely complexity and resourceful flies extremely rich in China, our study on Chinese Sphaeroceridae is rather poor. In addition, China is an ideal place for origin of the species, distribution of the species and biogeography. Thus the systematic study of sphaerocerids is importance in pest control, also real situation of Chinese Sphaeroceridae is found out to provide fundamental date for biogeography. The studied specimens were collected with sweep-collecting method, malaise trap and catch lamp from 11 Provinces,42 distributing locations, including more than 20 thousand speciments. We here set up taxonomy system on Sphaeroceridae of China with comparative morphology. This dissertation comprises two parts, general part and taxonomic part. In general part, the study history of the family at home and abroad is reviewed. The biology, the methods of studying Sphaeroceridae and the morphological features are introduced. In the taxonomic part, a total of 64 species and 2 subspecies under 18 genera and 3 subfamilies are described or redescribed (excluding Thoracochaeta acinaces Rohacek & Marshall,2000). Among them,1 genus is new to science,30 species are new to science,2 subspecies are new to science,5 genera are newly recorded from China,21 species are newly recoeded from China.32 new species (including new subspecies) are fully described and 33 known species fully redescribed, with 520 genital structures and other necessary characters illustrated and 113 wings, whole bodies and other necessary descriptions taken photos of. The synonyma of each known taxon are listed, with reference to the original description given. Keys to all the taxon treated here are provided.425 references are cited. A known genus and certain known species are reviewed.Studied species are all deposited in College of Biological and Environmental Engineering, Shenyang University, Shenyang. The new and newly recorded taxa are listed as follows:New record genera:Minilimosina Rohacek, Monorbiseta Papp, Opalimosina Rohacek, Pseudocollinella Duda, Terrilimosina Rohacek.New record species:Subfamily Copromyzinae:Norrbomia cryptica (Papp);Subfamily Limosininae:Coproica pusio (Zetterstedt), Leptocera nigra Olivier, Leptocera sterniloba Rohacek, Minilimosina (Minilimosina) parva (Malloch), Minilimosina (Svarciella) fanta Rohacek & Marshall, Minilimosina (Svarciella) vitripennis (Zetterstedt), Monorbiseta monorbiseta (Deeming), Opalimosina (Opalimosina) pseudomirabilis Hayashi, Phthitia (Kimosina) glabrescens (Villeneuve), Pseudocollinella humida (Haliday), Pullimosina (Pullimosina) moesta (Villeneuve), Rachispoda modesta (Duda), Spelobia (Spelobia) luteilabris (Rondain), Terrilimosina brevipexa Marshall, Terrilimosina nana Hayashi, Terrilimosina paralongipexa paralongipexa Hayashi, Terrilimosina schmitzi (Duda), Thoracochaeta brachystoma (Stenhammar), Thoracochaeta johnsoni (Spuler), Thoracochaeta seticosta (Spuler).New genus:Bispinicerica gen. nov..New species:Subfamily Copromyzinae:Norrbomia tuberis sp. nov.;Subfamily Limosininae:Bispinicerica liupanensis sp. nov., Bispinicerica concha sp. nov., Leptocera anguliprominens sp. nov., Leptocera angustiminax sp. nov., Leptocera latiminax sp. nov., Leptocera longiseta sp. nov., Leptocera squamispina sp. nov., Leptocera truncata sp. nov., Leptocera ovata sp. nov., Leptocera obunca sp. nov., Minilimosina (Allolimosina) cerciseta sp. nov., Minilimosina (Minilimosina) parafungicola sp. nov., Minilimosina (Svarciella) luteola sp. nov., Opalimosina (Opalimosina) par amir abilis sp. nov., Phthitia angulipollex sp. nov., Phthitia basilata sp. nov., Phthitia bicornis sp. nov., Phthitia longidigita sp. nov., Pullimosina (Pullimosina) meta sp. nov., Rachispoda breviprocera sp. nov., Rachispoda hamata sp. nov., Rachispoda hebes sp. nov., Spelobia (Spelobia) concava sp. nov., Spelobia (Spelobia) pararufilabris sp. nov., Spelobia (Spelobia) pseudoclunipes sp. nov., Terrilimosina capricornis sp. nov., Terrilomisina parabrevipexa sp. nov., Terrilimosina parasmetanai sp. nov., Thoracochaeta recta sp. nov..New subspecies:Subfamily Sphaerocerinae:Sphaerocera curvipes qianshanensis subsp. nov.;Subfamily Limosininae:Terrilimosina paralongipexa maoershanensis subsp. nov..
