Research On The Effect Of International Growth Of Firms In The Clusters: Pespective Of Organization Resource

Based on review on the theories of the effect of industrial cluster, internationalization process and forces of firms, and exogenous and endogenous factors of the growth of firms, especially network theory, the purpose of the disssertation is to focus on the clusterization of industries in countries under the background of global economic integration, the rapid internationalization growth of firms in a cluster and the significant differentiation of internationalization growth of firms in different geographical industrial cluster. Given above the research questions, the disssertation takes organized resources in industrial clusters which effect the competitive advantage and dynamic capability of firms in the clusters to induce international evolution of the firms as the main research subject and has made tentative findings as the followings.1. Provide an analysis framework of the growth of internationalization of firms in industrial clustersThe existing researches focus mainly on the effect of industrial cluster on a government and regional economy and the industry itself in a country. However, relatively little researech has been taken industrial clusters as middle-organizations to explore the effect of them on the firms in the clusters, especially on the internationalization of the firms in the industrial cluster under the new development mode of the world economy. The disssertation initially describes all factors related to industrial clusters which may facilitate competitive advantage and internationalization growth of firms in industrial clusters as organized resources. Then, on resource-based view of industrial cluster organization, this disssertation puts forword the analysis framework, that is, organized resources in industrial clusters-dynamic system of growth of internationalization of firms in industrial clusters—evolution system of internationalization of firms in industrial clusters—growth of internationalization of firms in the industrial cluster, which is used to determine the effect of industrial clusters on international growth of firms in the industrial cluster.2. Propose the "3-3 " model of classification criteria on organized resources of industrial clustersAlthough a large amount of academic works on resources emerge in strategic management, the growth of firms etc from home and abroad, relatively little research tends to apply the concept resources in enterprise strategic management theories into industrial cluster organization, especially in the perspective of internationalization growth of firms in industrial clusters. This disssertation tries to illuminate the classification criteria, components and the influence factors of resources in industrial clusters. With the limits of recent works on resources and the characteristics of industrial clusters, this disssertation proposes the "3-3 " model of classification criteria on organization resources of industrial clusters, which involves three dimensions, each one has three indexes of evaluation. According to the model of classification, resources in industrial clusters are identified as three components which are resources related industrial division and coordination, resources about industrial environment and network resources in the network among the firms in the clusters.3. Creat a conceptual model of the effect of industrial clusters on the growth of internationalization of firms in the clusterIn order to understand the effect of industrial clusters on the growth of internationalization of firms in the cluster, based on the existing related research, this disssertation further explores the regularity of growth of internationalization of firms in industrial cluster, particulary the correlation of the growth of internationalization of firms in industrial clusters and the industrial cluster itself and creats a conceptual model. The core idea of the model is to emphases how organized resources in industrial cluster correlate with dynamic system and international evolution system of firms in the industrial cluster which will constraints the growth of internationalization of firms in industrial clusters.4. Test the hypotheses related to the conceptual modelBased on the questionnaire survey data obtained from firms in yiwu commodity industrial cluster, Zhejiang and daily hardware industry cluster in Xian Cha Shaodong, Hunan, the hypotheses related to the conceptual model are tesed by using a comprehensive methdologies of theories of industrial clusters, internationalization of firms, the growth of firms and some analytical tool such as comparative study, mathematical statistics and structural equation model. The conclusions show that 1) each component of resources has positive effect on the international growth of the firms in clusters,2) the effect of the organized resource in different clusters on the firms in their clusters are different,3) each industrial cluster has an specific inherent dynamic mechanism of the resources in the clusters which works on the internationalization of firms in the clusters.In sum, these findings, to a certain extent, will rich theories of the internationalization of firms in industrial clusters, guide the practitioners in international business better and finally enhance international competitiveness of industrial clusters. Nevertheless, some limits still exists in the dissertition, which are disussed in the end of it. The author expects to reveal any other findings on the founctions of resoureces in industrial clusters in the future detailed study so as to meet the gap.
