Ever since China began its economic reforms in 1978, large-scale rural labor migration has been a particularly important social phenomenon and has made effects to China's economy and society. This dissertation takes rural labor migration as the clue of understanding Chinese economic development. From effects of labor migration, the dissertation established theoretical frame of rural labor migration effects based on dual structure. And a further empirical analysis has been undertaken to study rural labor effects of Jiangxi Province. The research of this dissertation has important significance not only to know rural labor migration effects of Jiangxi province, but also to put forward policy suggestions about rural labor migration of Jiangxi province.Firstly, under the maximize profit hypothesis, the dissertation built quantitative relations between the output of two sectors (rural sector and non-rural sector) and rural labor migration when the supply surplus labor of rural sector equals to the demand of non-rural sector. The quantitative relations showed that the rural labor migration had negative effect on the output of rural sector and positive effect on the output of non-rural sector. The empirical research of Jiangxi province verified this conclusion.Secondly, the dissertation gave the concept of labor sectional transfer effect coefficient and labor supply effect coefficient. Based on the coefficient, the dissertation indicated the reason and method how labor sectional transfer effect and labor supply effect influence the economic development. From the empirical analysis of Jiangxi province, the dissertation found that the labor sectional transfer effect coefficient was lower than labor supply effect coefficient since 1986. And labor sectional transfer effect coefficient has descended since the early years of the Reform and Opening-up, but it kept a more stable level during the past ten years.Thirdly, going on the premise that industry nurturing agriculture, the dissertation built dynamic equilibrium model about the development of two sectors (rural sector and non-rural sector) and rural labor migration under hypothesis of dual structure. The model showed that the speed of rural labor migration has positive effects on agricultural technology progress and agricultural capital increasing rate under the premise of industry nurturing agriculture. And the empirical research of Jiangxi province verified latter (agricultural capital increasing rate).Fourthly, according to urbanization lags industrialization which is the characteristic of dual structure, the dissertation gave the distinguish law of rural labor migration reducing urban-rural income gap. And based on this distinguish law, the dissertation uncovered reason of why rural labor migration can not reduce urban-rural income gap. The reason is rural-urban labor market segregation. Through the data of Jiangxi province, the dissertation found that rural labor migration enlarged the urban-rural income gap because of the income distribution inequality in Jiangxi province which is a less-developed region of dual-economy. The empirical analysis showed that there are two dissimilarities between Jiangxi province and national region. One is that the effect of urbanization is inapparent to reduce the urban-rural income gap. Another is that the urbanization lag coefficient and un-agricultural (rural households transfer to industry sector) coefficient are lower than national coefficient. This means that the effects of urbanization lag and rural households transfer in Jiangxi province are lower than national effects, and the former is obviously. Finally, the dissertation analyzed rural population, rural labor and rural migrants of Jiangxi province. It also estimated the rural labor migration trend of Jiangxi province. And based on conclusion of the theoretical and empirical analysis, the dissertation gave four policy suggestions.
