| SummaryEconomic growth has always been one of the key subjects in economic theory. A lot of classic economist such as Adam Smith, David Ricardo, Malthus, Frank Ramsey, Allyn Young, Frank Knight and Joseph Schumpeter, etc. has offered many basic composition for modern economic growth theory, including competition behavior and basic method of the dynamic equilibrium, the function that the remuneration decreases progressively and relation with material capital and human capital, interaction between per capita income and population growth rate, the improvement of the degree of specialization of labor and the function of the technological progress that the discovery of new products and new production method causes, etc. In the 1930s, Harold and Domar set up the mathematics model in the economic growth, realizing the great transition of the economic growth theory from the thought to the model In 1950s, Solow has succeeded in solving the stability problem of the economic growth route, and found the great function of the technological progress to the economic growth. Since 1980s, a group of economists represented by Romer and Lucas are devoted to the research of endogenesis the technological progress and discussion the endogenous mechanism of economic growth, and leading the growth theory into the endogenous stage. This dissertation sets up a three-sector model by integrating the Romer Model and Lucas Model, which are the two main models in endogenous economic growth. The R&D department, which comes from the idea of Romer Model, is led into a three-sector model. It is an integration of Romer Model and Lucas Model, as well as an extension of Lucas Model. Based on the three-sector model, this paper compares the human capital investment and the RdD one in China from 1978 to 2003.At first, the background of studying is elaborated and the relevant research to this subject both domestic and international is summarized in the dissertation, and then, the theme, method and train of thought of the research are proposed. Because the thesis model mainly involves two major research fields in economics, which are human capital theory and endogenous economic growth, it spread out along the two theories and studies the connection and integration of them. In the human capital theory, it trims off historical clue from the historical origin of human capital to the formation of modern human capital theory, and analyses the character and supply and demand of human capital. In economic growth, it elaborates the basic variation process of modern economic growth theory, and summarizes the three leap of modern economic growth model. In the end of this part, it analyses the relationship between modern economic growth theory and human capital theory. And then, it sets up a three-sector endogenous economic growth model, by using dynamic optimized theory and integrating the character of Romer Model and Lucas Model Based on this, it solutes the model, and analyses the endogenous mechanism of economic growth.Using the statistical data from 1978 to 2003 of China, the empirical part of the dissertation analyses the economic growth in China based on the conclusion of the three-sector growth model. It shows that it is quite distinct of the human capital contribution to the economic growth in China (the output elasticity of human capital is 0.271 and 0.295), but it is not obvious of the R&D contribution. In the end, considering the research conclusiong of the paper and the practice of China, it proposes the development strategy of human capital from four aspects, and puts forward the sustaining policy countermeasure of long-run economic growth and sustainable development of China. |
