I am an experienced business practitioner with more than 17 years work experience. I found the behavior and performance of Chinese and foreigners in the process of group decision-making are quite different. For this reason, their effectivenss of the decisions made are also different. In order to prove the validity of my perspective, this disertation has been titled as "A Sino-foreign Comparison of Group Decision-making Effectiveness in Enterprises". I have selected 44 effective obersevation records, from 108 total observations in 18 months, for the basis of this paper. The observations tell "the group combined a foreigner leader and all foreigner members" can make the more effective group decision than "the group combined with Chinese leader and all Chinese members". The effectiveness of other combination falls in between the two pure groups. Then, I have analysed 168 questionnaires to check the accuracy of the observational findings. Comparing with foreigner, Chinese is relatively easy to be influenced by other people in the process of group decision-making, especially the influence from leader. There are just limited Chinese would like to share their knowledge and experience with other group member thoroughtly and honestly during the process. Moreover, the Chinese tends to believe that the ideas thrown from leader should be better and tends to support the leaders' suggestion. Lastly, I conducted 12 personal interviews trying to find out the reasons behind their behaviours. Majority of the interviewee consider barrier of different languages and cultural diversity are the important reasons to make them influenced by alien participants. Last but not the least, the research will apply 1) the Class Struggle Thoery of Maxism, 2) the perspective on large corporation system of J.K. Galbriath, and 3) Game Theory to explain why the actual effectiveness of group decision-making is lower than the expected. Futhermore, I will further elorborate why the effectiveness of Chiness is worse than non-Chinese by the characteristics of the Chinese and the "Guanxi" of Chinese. My research applied positive methodology to discover phenomenon, which is not popular in the Mainland China. Practicality and easy to understand are the principle of my paper too. More, using enterprises as the dedicated object to study group decision-making is also innovative in the field.
