There is a complicated interaction between urban transport and urban spatial evolution. Using the analytical methods of comparison, demonstration and mathematical model, this dissertation makes a deep study on the interaction mechanism and the evolution laws of urban transport and urban spatial evolution. It finds that the historically corresponding relationship between urban transport and urban spatial evolution exists evidently. It also finds that the processes of their evolution are characterized by different stages , but the interaction between them is a continuous process. In addition, logistic equation is used to construct some models such as the independent evolution model, staged dynamic interaction model, and the constrained model of urban transport and urban spatial evolution. These models reveal the laws of evolution and interaction of urban transport and spatial evolution and show that, under certain conditions, the interaction process of urban transport and urban spatial evolution can reach the condition of dynamic equilibrium. The analytic framework of the interaction mechanism of urban transport and urban spatial evolution is constructed . Some conclusions are as follows: accessibility is the key facter connecting urban transport with urban spatial evolution. The improvement of accessibility reduces the transport cost which affects the behavior of location-chosing of residents and fims and in turn affects the evolution mode, scale and distribution of urban space. At the same time, the changes of urban spatial scale and distribution have a great impact on transport mode through which affect the development of urban transport. This paper forms an evaluation system on the coordinate degree of urban transport and urban spatial evolution for the first time. It suggests that the attributive difference and the externalities of urban transport and urban spatial evolution are important factors affecting their coordinated development . Yet, the time and order of urban transport construction have impacts on urban spatial evolution in macrocosmic and microcosmic levels respectively. The impacts of "TOD"mode on urban transport and urban spatial evolution are explored. At last, the interaction mechanism and the evolution laws of urban transport and spatial evolution are revealed and tested again by demonstration.
