Tourism, especially ecotourism, is a better way to promote the development of mountain area. Tourism is the industry which depends on natural gift and social bequest, the excellent environment and humanistic environment is the base of tourism. The biodiversity of mountain area in our country is rich, as well as, we have more origin and bequest of human civilization than any other area.In recent two decades, the tourism in our country developed rapidly, and it becomes the new industry in many mountain areas. The effects of tourism on rural and households are increasing. Through the searches of literatures of domestic and abroad, we found that the relative researches are not familiar. The issue of how much the earning and the employ chances the tourism brings to the farmers and the effect on the economy development of mountain area can not solve by the current statistics and research of tourism.The paper based on the basic principle of area economy development and sustainable development, and uses the area economics, development economics, welfare economics, industrial economics, tourism economics, psychology, culture sciences, ecology and forest natural aesthetics to analyze Jinggangshan mountain area in Jiangxi province. The most important method is demonstration study; meanwhile, participatory rural appraisal is used in the field survey and visit. Depend on the econometrics to analyze the relationship between tourism and development of mountain area form the aspects of influences of tourism on household's income, local economy, society and culture. The results are as follows:1. The study on the impacts of tourism in Jinggangshan on mountain area shows that the tourism promotes the industrial structure in Jinggangshan mountain area and there is high relevancy between the third industry which is mainly with tourism in rural and GNP of villages and towns in Jinggangshan. The tourism shows association with the income of rural households in Jinggangshan in the analysis of rural households' income increase, The tourism solves mountain area impoverished effective way.2. The social culture of tourism has a active effect and the study indicates that the tourism didn't accelerate the mountain area get rid of the traditional culture, on the contrary, it influences the notion of local dwellers and makes the traditional culture conserve completely and display to the world. The tourism speeds the rural vicissitudes and urbanization process of Jingganshan. 3. The impacts of tourism on Jinggangshan mountain area's entironment have two sides. On the one hand, the study fingers that the development will benefit the protection of resource, on the other hand, it is necessary to make a reasonable tourism environment capability, and reduce or mitigate the press to the environment by doing ecotourism in order to attain the aim of sustainable development in mountain area.4. Calculation and analysis of tourist source market, market geography location and tourism resource in Jinggangshan shows that the consumption level of citizens around Jinggangshan is higher than that of Jinggangshan. Therefore, Jinggangshan city not only attaches importance to tourists in Jinggangshan city, but also the tourists around the city, Especially the tourists of Shanghai, zhejiang province, Fujian province and Guangdong province in eastern and southern region. The appraisal of tourism resource in Jingganshan testifies that Jinggangshan has more attractive scenic areas both domestic and abroad. The resource value and tourism value of them are high, so it should be developed properly and ensure the sustainable development would be come true.5. The SWOT analysis of tourism potential in Jinggangshan shows that Jinggangshan has the advantage, but it also faces the challenge. How to seize the current opportunity, enhance strong points and avoid weaknesses, build up the image, improve the competition capability and familiarity are important.6. The paper establishes the mode of taking Jinggangshan mountain area tourism development as the leading mode in theory. Depend on the study on the impacts of tourism on development of mountain area and the characters of mountain area development, the pattern of developing tourism in Jinggangshan mountain area is proposed. Further more, the paper proposes the government dominative mode and the local community rural participatory mode of Jinggangshan mountain area tourism.
