Bank Of Communications Research (1907-1928)

Recent years the scholars attach more and more importance to the research of the history of China's banking, while there is still less monographs focusing on Bank of Communications. This dissertation is a case study on history of banks based on Chinese capital in modern China. This dissertation studies on Bank of Communications from its establishing in late Qing Dynasty to its developing in late 1920s, and focuses on the management and evolution of Bank of Communications under the rules of the two different regimes.This dissertation includes two parts. The first part expatiates on three aspects of Bank of Communications in late Qing Dynasty. The first topic is the establishing of Bank of Communications. Secondly, I try to elucidate on the characters, the organizing framework, and the operation of Bank of Communications. Thirdly, I analyze the management of Bank of Communications and its crisis at the revolution of Xinhai.The other part of this dissertation also clarifies three topics of Bank of Communications in Beiyang government. The first topic focuses on the orientation of Bank of Communications during the rule under the Beiyang government, and tries to illuminate the history of its evolvement into a central bank. Secondly, I want to expose the relationship between Bank of Communications and the Beiyang government by the study on how Bank of Communications dealed with the order sent by Beiyang government to stop exchange and the crisis of Jing Chao. Thirdly, I try to study on two kinds of management style of Bank of Communications during Beiyang government.
