Study On Cluster Supply Chain And Its Management

With advancement of technology & science and development of productivity, continuously increasing customer consumption level, ever-rising competition among firms and colossal economical and social changes make the whole market more and more uncertain, in particular, it is the turning point when our country is facing the process of economical transit and melting into global economical system, the uncertainty from inter and outer environment brought by "3C" forces domestic firms to carry out organizational and institutional innovation in order to sharpen their edges of international competition.Industrial cluster and supply chain management, act as effective regional economic development platform and organizational management paradigm, are becoming key points where many regional economies can survive and develop. With the reform and opening-up, although a lot of regional governments take an emphasis of regional economical development and supply chain management strategy diffusion, actual operation does not show successful results than it should be. So, how to develop regional economy, to upgrade its industry, to improve small-medium sized firms' competency in industrial cluster through supply chain management, even to compete with multi-nationals in international market, all of which are currently waiting to be explored. However, a majority of current studies generally divided the tow theory of industrial cluster and supply chain management to research, i.e. few experts embed both of them to analyze it.So, the dissertation considered: it exists combination of industrial cluster and supply chain management. Industrial upgrading of industrial cluster can be achieved via developing from some low-added value, non-core ties to high-added value ties along value chain, in this way, industrial cluster can be formed a full or almost full supply chain structure in the same region. On the other hand, not only there are a couple of core firms lied at the same tie of chain in the same industry, but also it exists many upstream and downstream firms which conglomerate in the same region(Porter, 1998), all of these give a solid foundation for constructing 'cluster supply chain'.On basis of the above, the definition of 'cluster supply chain' is put forward, and further be classified in term of geography and industry. This dissertation employed other researcher's methods and theories both about supply chain management and industrial cluster, through theoretical generalization, logic deduction and some concrete mathematic models, tried to design a set of theoretical framework about cluster supply chain, and further explored the flexible way of development of region economy and cluster firms from the respect of medium and micro levels.
