A Study Of The Relationship Between Human Capital Structure And Regional Economic Development

Human capital difference is one of the most important factors to result in regionaleconomic disparity. Human capital structure determines its function, and the latter also hasimportant effects on the former, so there are interrelations between the human capitalstructure and the development of regional economy. All the human capital structures are ofone-another affiliation,acting on the course of regional economic development together,and the regional economic development also becomes the inherent driving force of theevolution of its human capital structures. The realization of corresponding interrelationbetween the development of regional economy and its human capital structure is one of thebasic conditions of harmonizing regional economic development.In this dissertation, many approaches are integrated, such as normative study andpositive study, qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, theoretical analysis andpractical application. On the basis of analyses of human capital theory, regional economicdevelopment theory and practice, also under the economic development background of east,middle and west zone of China, this dissertation studies the interrelations and itsmanipulation between human capital investment main body structure, investment efficacystructure, population allocation structure, industry allocation structure, spatial structure ofhuman capital and economic development of east, middle and west zone of China.Accordingly, common policies about regional manipulation of the human capital structureare put forward, and regional human capital countermeasures are also brought forward so asto promote the development of east, middle and west zone of China.The dissertation is organized as follows: Chapter one summarizes the theoretical study of human capital and its evolution,including its background, connotation, function, formation, deduction, its important researchevolution, and finally the new cognitions about human capital connotation and theory. Chapter two studies the human capital structure. This part systematically analyzes itsconcept, types, characteristics, and their relations with its function. In the light of itsformation mechanism, human capital structure includes human capital investment mainbody structure and investment efficacy structure. And in terms of its action process, it haspopulation allocation structure, industry allocation structure and spatial structure, which areall interrelated.Chapter three analyzes the relations between human capital structure and regionaleconomic development. Regarding east, middle and west zone of China as the basic part,with the existing data, this part mainly explores the relations between human capitalstructure and regional economic development and its regional characteristics and differenceson human capital investment main body structure, investment efficacy structure, populationallocation structure, industry allocation structure and spatial structure.Chapter four examines the manipulative mechanisms on the human capital structure andregional economic development. Based on the analyses of human capital factors in thetheory of regional division and the flow of factor, regional economic intervene and itsregional human capital policy and manipulative mechanisms on the human capital structure,the foundation of the relations between manipulation of human capital structure andregional economic development is expounded.Chapter five is devoted to the study of manipulative mode and countermeasures on therelations between the human capital structure and the development of regional economy. Itmainly analyzes its manipulative objects, manipulative modes, manipulative paths, andaccordingly puts forward the common policies of improving their relations and regionalhuman capital countermeasures based on the current economic development situation of east,middle and west zone of China and its problems on human capital structure.The last part is conclusion. Essential viewpoints and main innovations of thedissertation are summarized, the possible contributions are indicated, and suggestions forfuture study are proposed.
